January 12, 201610 yr source? Guus Hiddink in his presser according to BBC Sport Edit: On BBC's match preview 'Chelsea forward Diego Costa has overcome a bruised knee and will face West Brom.' 'Loic Remy is fit following a calf problem, but Eden Hazard and Radamel Falcao remain out with respective groin and thigh injuries.' Edited January 12, 201610 yr by PedroMendez
January 12, 201610 yr Under Jose this season, Costa wasnt doing what he gets paid to do, and needed a kick up the arse, and that's what he got from the supporters at the Sunderland match, and he has responded by doing what he should be doing, playing football in and around the box, and scoring goals instead of fighting and play acting on the wing.
January 13, 201610 yr Which members of the squad doesn't this logic apply to? Are you also okay with selling Fabregas, Matic, Oscar, Ivanovic, Hazard? Fabregas and Costa have at least found some form. Matic and particularly Hazard still look well short of the standards they set last season. Yes, I would have them all sold. As extreme as it is. They have been dreadful. Which leaves us with Remy, unless he leaves too, which is possible, so we'd have Bamford and who else? Traore who isn't a natural forward, a flaw that we have had in recent years is not only a lack of quality strikers, but a lack of strikers period and you think we should sell a striker whose starting to prove his worth again? I disagree completely. We gave Drogba two seasons to sort himself out, Costa deserves the same time. Costa is different to Drogba, Drogba had his dives and moments but Costa is a thug, a tempermental bitch and he should be sold in the summer where we have time to sign a replacement.
January 13, 201610 yr Costa is different to Drogba, Drogba had his dives and moments but Costa is a thug, a tempermental bitch and he should be sold in the summer where we have time to sign a replacement. Costa has never played as badly in an individual game as Drogba did during that 3-0 defeat to Man Utd under Scolari.
January 13, 201610 yr Yes, I would have them all sold. As extreme as it is. They have been dreadful. Costa is different to Drogba, Drogba had his dives and moments but Costa is a thug, a tempermental bitch and he should be sold in the summer where we have time to sign a replacement. Drogba slapped an opponent in full view of the referee in a Champions League final which led to our beloved captain humiliating himself and costing us football's biggest club trophy against one of our biggest rivals and yet he got his act together to achieve God-like status here. Costa has come across as all but deranged this year but its never to late for redemption in football.
January 13, 201610 yr Costa is different to Drogba, Drogba had his dives and moments but Costa is a thug, a tempermental bitch and he should be sold in the summer where we have time to sign a replacement. After we splashed out £32 million on him, he had a great season las season too, yes he's temperamental, calling him a thug though is irrelevant, he uses antics similar to antics that a former captain used and people liked it, he remains a loved figure. At the end of the day we need a rough player, he's someone in the Keane/Viera mould and with all due repspect, it comes across soft when our own fans can't bare to see one of our own being aggressive. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it's easy to say let's look for another striker, but we'll be looking for two as it is, ditching Costa means we have three new strikers to sign, nonsensical.
January 13, 201610 yr Author Yes, I would have them all sold. As extreme as it is. They have been dreadful. So you'd sell Costa, the best striker we've had since we signed Anelka. You'd sell Matic, the best holding player we've had since Makalele. You'd sell Hazard, our player of the year. You'd sell Fabregas, a player who has won almost everything and is by far our best passer of the ball. Once you've shipped out those four based on a bad four months, who exactly are you going to replace them all with?

Once you've shipped out those four based on a bad four months, who exactly are you going to replace them all with? To be fair, that was basically what you were saying a few weeks ago: I'd have stuck with Jose and come what may let him swing the axe on a squad full of underachievers.
January 13, 201610 yr Author To be fair, that was basically what you were saying a few weeks ago: My argument was if I had to choose between backing the squad or backing Jose I'd have backed Jose. We, in my opinion, backed the lesser talent. I'd have wrote the season off, damned with worrying about finishing in the top four and let Jose do what the four year contract intended. Stopped giving him inexperienced youth as buffers to a squad lacking in quality in depth and signed the players he wanted which I am confortable and confident in saying wasn't happening.
January 13, 201610 yr Cannot fault his work ethic today. Can fault his lack of quality and him allowing the West Brom players to get the better of him mentally.
January 14, 201610 yr I think he did fantastically well to last the whole game, was 100% certain he was a walking red card, so well donec DC.
January 14, 201610 yr Worked his ass off last night and the ref gave him nothing, cant blame him for nearly losing his mind. Edited January 14, 201610 yr by Zola
January 14, 201610 yr Never celebrates goals now, unless he has scored them. Winds up the opposition, tries to unsettle their players, to the point that they give extra 10%+ because of Costa. Winds up the refs, snarls at them, constantly calling for players to be booked. It is so painful to watch a player like him play for this club. Wish I could feel different, but he has had it with me.
January 14, 201610 yr He is what he is. When he's scoring hes a hero. He is getting back to his old self. I think the other 19 teams would take him in their team if offered. We could have Torres...
January 14, 201610 yr As much as he is my type of player (works hard, gritty, determined, bullish etc) I am getting a little sick of his petulance
January 14, 201610 yr Author Never celebrates goals now, unless he has scored them. He was one of the first to go celebrate with Kenedy last night and looked pretty happy about it.
January 14, 201610 yr not saying much, but would rather have costa showing a bit of fight and petulance than a lot of lightweights we have in the squad like oscar and pedro,, who look like they could be knocked off the ball by a puff of wind
January 14, 201610 yr He was one of the first to go celebrate with Kenedy last night and looked pretty happy about it. Because of it being Kenedy's first league goal and him being Brazilian he made an exception maybe ? Check out Dave's goal and watch Costa, hardly a smile.
January 14, 201610 yr User Actions Follow Chelsea HQ@Chelsea_HQ Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Diego Costa punched a hole in the tunnel wall after #Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with West Brom on Wednesday. [Goal]
January 14, 201610 yr Idea: How about we don't chant 'Diego, Diego' every time he gets in the face of the opposition and only do it when he does something good on the pitch?
January 14, 201610 yr Hes going to be even angrier on Saturday as he cant go back to Atleti next season to re join all his chums
