Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Featured Replies

Mate Costa almost nil to zero chances of winning trophies at Atletico, can bodly say we have the chance of winning the treble before AM does of winning a trophy in Spain or Europe. Ambition has nothing to do with it, probably home-sick, anything else is unprofessionalism, which won't surprise me from a character like Costa.

Next don't check the coefficient releasedfor a particular season as we are bound to have a low score, check the cumulative as it tells the general story of club successes over time. Here you are,

Can we please stop putting other clubs down, it makes us look like the dippers.

Atletico are a fantastic team. Their achievements in the past few years in the face of adversity are very impressive.

Not putting down anyone as I stated previously,it's just mere fact that we are likely to win the title before they do in Spain.

How? The spearhead in Prem is much wider than in Spain. There are 3 clubs fighting for title and Atletico is one of them. In England there are 6 clubs capable of winning it.

Your 1st paragraph is purely based on bias and no logic and fact involved..

And your pick of UEFA coefficient is a poor choice of you trying to support your statement.. I see the link you provided conveniently take off the last 2 seasons standing.. where are the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 coefficient? oh wait, here it is..

I agree ....sell him if we receive 70 million ..........however ......we need to get his replacement in first............

I can't see Athletico Madrid wanting to pay anywhere near 70 million..........so it looks like he will stay with us........I just hope he concentrates on putting the ball in the net instead of picking fights !

Saying that we're more likely to win a treble before they win any trophies is putting them down, imo.

They've lost the CL at the death twice in recent years, even if la liga is more difficult for them to win than the PL is for us, they're clearly capable of beating Barca/Madrid in cup ties so a copa win isn't unlikely. Whereas we're miles from winning the CL again, let alone a treble.

Is this Costa staying source reliable?

Absolutely sh*t.

Attitude-wise, Play-wise. Dont even know why he was on the pitch. Dont care if we dont buy anyone, but it seems his mind is made up.

Sell the c**t before he sulks and stinks the place up resulting in another manager getting fired.

Absolutely sh*t.

that bad huh? I didnt see the game so cant comment. In fact, i hardly ever watch pre-season games so i have no idea how he has done this pre season compared to the last 2. Is he worse than last year? the same?

I would like to remove the "play-wise" part of my post since it is only a pre-season game. But the rest of it is true. Stank the place up with his attitude. Continously moaning around.

more press from the AM President:

"Costa [talks] do not have a long tail or anything of the sort," Cerezo said. "Diego has a contract with Chelsea and he belongs to Antonio Conte's team. Chelsea are our friends, just as the great Atletico man Diego Costa is our friend. But his place is with Chelsea and we are sure that he will be successful there. We cherish Diego for what he has given us and he knows where his home is."

WTF? this dude continuing sends cryptic messages to DC, which is destabilizing the situation @ CFC - where is UEFA at?

I don't think he is doing that, you have to understand he is probably answering some journalist (and you don't want to know how Spanish sport journalists are) and he is stating that Costa is a Chelsea player, that Atletico wants to keep in Chelsea's good books as they are friendly clubs and then leaves a door open for the future with Costa, who is very likely going back sometime in the future, they love the man there and saying other thing would be not on. But I think he is clearly stating that AM's interest this season is off.

Absolutely sh*t.

Didn't see the match, but i really hope it's not the case as he's a liability when he's not happy and having it his way.

I think this is a bit old. It does say 2014 in the URL :)

He got zero service yesterday, our idea of build-up in the first half was having Cahill long ball it to where Costa was outnumbered usually about 4 to 1. His all-around game has never been the best, so it was no surprise that he struggled without support.

personally i would sell him , he is a unstable influence with his attitude and the way he plays . Don't get me wrong when he is on song he is a great player but those days have been few and far between due to injuries form and attitude.

Costa had a free header in the first half that he didn't convert.  Then he had a 1 v 1 with a defender and didn't beat him.  I love the man but he has to play better, Batshuayi is breathing down his neck.
