Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Featured Replies

His attitude is not good. But everyone knew he would be hard work behind the scenes. Did not matter when he was banging them in. So all it needs is a few words between player and boss. Tell us fans that. Then all will be forgotten and forgiven when he scores his first goal of the season. I demand that he stays.

Yeah but after he downed tools during this season which we were doing well and in first place I don't think I could ever trust him again sure he's a top class striker but not worth everyone walking on eggshells around the bloke praying every Friday the guv turns up and not the stroppy prick looking to chin everyone

Most of the criticism here is legitimate but then again some of the best players down the years have had kinks which needed to be managed. Diego, despite it all, has given the club great service and for that he should be thanked. Wishing him well.

Not at all, this is a world cup season and Costa wants to shine on the biggest stage and won't make the Spanish squad if he is not playing.

He should have thought on that a bit more though and might explain why towards the end of the season he was kissing the Chelsea badge!

i dunno, maybe he's just conceded to the fact he won't be able to play for 6 months and atletico aren't willing to match what we want for him, so he's not got much choice. i wouldn't be surprised to see him kick up a fuss in a years time and move back to spain. when he doesn't want something he enjoys a tantrum.

Hope the board give him a reply along these lines:

Dear Diego,

We will simply accept the biggest bid. If you want to go to the highest bidder, then good for us all, otherwise, we will make you do clean our gutters if we wish to do so. So now f**k off and do as you are told by the club currently paying you money to get your idiotic hands on jet skis and what nots.

Well his lawyer has waded in to it as well now. I know the club does not comment on transfer speculation but I think we could do with making our position clear. Set a price, tell atletico or whoever to meet it or tell Diego he can stay two years in the malouda way.

I agree we need to pressure them, we could be setting a bad precedent if any player can force a move with no worry of consequences and a club like Atletico can bargain with us so much successfully.

But the fact it's taking so long to materialise and that Costa is getting his lawyer involved makes me think Chelsea is doing something in the background.

I just hope this does not distract us with our pre-season. We should just let Diego go.

I would be sorely disappointed in our club if we allow atletico, Costa or his lawyer bully us in to selling him at a cheap price because of media pressure. Would be much better to malouda him, it would make a statement. Otherwise what is to stop hazard doing likewise to force a move to real in the future?

I find the stuff about his lawyer getting involved to be quite hilarious, what can he possibly do ? Costa should consider himself lucky that he is still getting paid by the club. He's still on holiday while the rest of the players are getting fit for the new season, he's literally getting paid to do f**k all.
