Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Featured Replies

Simon Jordan is a rarity, he isn't blinded by disdain for this club, like so many idiots are and he's spot on. We are the only club in the world who would be vilified for this, Costa has kicked up a fuss and asked to leave on numerous occasions, once during the season, he is then told via text to leave, which all of sudden he has a problem with, very odd. I doubt that the text was ever sent, if it was, then it could have been handled better, but it's most likely Diego's way of trying to force a move and not coming across badly, or having an excuse to not train and honour his contract. Anyone who actually believes Diego is right is delusional and naive and Diego was a fine player for us, but a world class cu*t and liar.

It must have been said by others before: I just don't get that whole text message thing, that our new best friend Keith reminds us of. Apart from the fact that Conte and Costa probably share 20 words of a common language between them and for the rest rely on gesturing, what boss informs one of their workforce they're no longer needed by text? It's so hard to believe in this age of litigation and labour laws.

Simon Jordan has launched a blistering attack on Diego Costa and called on the footballing authorities to take strong action against the Chelsea rebel.

The striker is refusing to return to Stamford Bridge after claiming he was sent a text message in June by boss Antonio Conte telling him he will not part of his plans going forward.

Costa says he was been treated like a ‘criminal’ by the club and is prepared to remain in exile for a YEAR if he does not get his wish to move back to Atletico Madrid.

His antics have prompted a furious outburst from Jordan, the outspoken former Crystal Palace owner, who was a co-host alongside Jim White on talkSPORT on Tuesday.

He insisted Costa has only himself to blame for the situation he has found himself in and has called on the PFA and FA to intervene and throw their support behind Chelsea.

“The player has reaped what he sowed,” said Jordan. “He had an altercation earlier in January, he fell out with a fitness trainer there and, whether it was his agent or himself, then started to wax lyrical about opportunities for himself in China at keys time in the season.

“He was probably told by Chelsea he was able to move in the summer if he got his boots on and helped them win the Premier League, but it that doesn’t alter the fact that he was very disruptive at a key time in the season for Chelsea. Certain managers that have the courage of their convictions won’t forget that so he has reaped what he sowed.

“Here we are now where a manager by text, by phone, by carrier pigeon – who cares - told him he was surplus to requirements. That doesn’t mean that he then gets to go on strike, do exactly what he pleases and sit on a beach or at home on the other side of the world.

“What he gets to do as an employee of a football club, within reason, is to do as he is told, which is to get his backside back to the training ground, keep himself fit and not do exactly what he wants, which is bowl around in an Atletico Madrid shirt orchestrating a move he wants to get ultimately for reasons he has created by his attitude.

“Chelsea are well within their rights to take a stance. They are well within their rights to tell a player that he is no longer required.

"He should be yanked backed and the authorities should get involved. Where are the PFA? Where is Gordon Taylor and his £4million-a-year salary saying something about a player which is completely and utterly wrong.

“He should be back in England, he should be keeping himself fit, he should be doing his job. If he doesn’t do that, the authorities should get him for every single day that the slob doesn’t turn up for training.”

Simon Jordan was brilliant when talking about this, didn't sway from his view even when Jim White tried unsuccessfully to bring the topic back onto the anti Chelsea rhetoric that TalkSport have been sowing all week.

I think this is pretty spot on actually. Good post. Surprisingly what seems to have been missed amongst all the rhetoric and bullsh*t from the media is that despite the appalling treatment from Chelsea of a proven 20 goal a season striker who would be available for slightly more than a fairly average midfielder recently plying his trade in Wales, the only club that appears to have expressed any interest in signing poor old Diego are his old club who are actually embargoed. Maybe rather than ranting and raving about the shocking treatment he has been subjected to by us, perhaps he should be wondering why no other bu**er is interested in signing him.

There is a article in my country today, for Costa and how he wanted to leave us 3 times in the past year.

The first one was last summer, and he wanted to go back at Atletico Madrid, and we probably would let him go, if we could have arranged Morata or Lukaku back then, but we failed and we convinced him to stay for probably 1 year.

The second time was in the winter, when all the problems start. It`s says he wanted to go badly, China offer him really huge wage, but we could have not find replacement, maybe if we could have get Llorente, cause there was report, we could have let him go, but that doesn`t happen, and he was told by Conte, he is done and in the summer to search for a new team.

And the third time is now. And he want to go only to Madrid. China interest is off, cause of the taxes and he want back in Spain.

So i don`t see who else is to blame, but Costa for all of this tragedy.

Everton would only take him on loan, if they cheekily got Chelsea to pay half his wages.....can't see that happening.

According to Liverpool supporters favourite newspaper (sick joke) .........Costa is at the airport flying to Madrid, to meet up with his old mucker Diego Simeone........this is a step in the right direction.....I.e he's at least going to be in Europe.......But I can't see why Chelsea FC should be allowing him to train with Athletico Madrid or any other club......unless they arrange / set up some sort of pre-arranged transfer fee / contract I.e so it's all in place for Costa to officially re-join Ath Madrid in January.

if I was running the negotiations for CFC, I would do a deal with them by insisting that Ath Madrid agree a 60 million Euros cash fee for his transfer to go go through in January or alternatively offer them the option of giving us 2 of their players of our choice with a combined market value of 40 million ( except Greisman, as they wouldn't agree with that! ) and also pay us 25 million Euros in cash.

i would also contact Costa's Agent and tell him to help sort this Fukcing mess out.

Someone from the Chelsea heirachy (main board director ) should be on a plane to Madrid and catch up with Costa there.....meet him in an isolated car park, and have a man to man chat with the geezer. Or have I been watching too many gangster movies?!

Personally, I think let them meet as it increases the chance of a deal being struck and I can see no harm in Costa training with AM until January if T&Cs can be agreed.

Yet if he stays training with AM without an approach to us I think we are well within our rights to stop his salary and demand some sort of explanation which may involve the football authorities.

I don't think that will be needed as I think us and AM have a reasonable relationship.

Media is making this bigger than it is. Costa wants to leave. We are looking for a club for him and want money for it. Costa wont play another minute under Conte and that is a fact.

Other than that there is no case here. Our players don't think he will come back so it should be pretty calm in that sense.

Costa is gone for what price and when is the open question here. Everything else is media looking for scoops.

Diego Costa is determined to push through a return to Atletico Madrid after telling Chelsea he will not report for training.

The striker claims he was told he was not wanted by manager Antonio Conte via text message in the summer - a claim the club denies.

Chelsea had expected the striker to return to London and make himself available for selection if the striker is to seal a move back to Atletico.

But the 28-year-old has not reported for training, having previously claimed that the club has made him feel like a ‘criminal’. Costa has now reaffirmed that stance.

“My destination is already made. I must return to Atletico Madrid,” a statement released by Costa read.

“It turns out that there is the impasse that Chelsea does not want to release me.

“But I believe that this situation will be resolved now on my return to Spain.”

Double post haha,

Re the media, I can understand their interest as Costa was a big personality in the EPL and now he is in an unusual tug of war with the club and the rest of the media is largely made up of fake transfer stories. At least this has the makings of an unusual story for them.

Imagine if Costa sues. Says that he would be happy to buy out his contract (20million left I think) and move to another club and wins.

What would that do to the global transfer market. Carnage. Sanchez could be sold for 8 million. Clubs could get decimated half way through a season if they have under paid players.

Diego's action's have been absolutely stupid.  From being photoed in an Atletico shirt, running to the media, speaking to Jose and such, he doesn't deserve to wear the Chelsea shirt again.  Wish we had gotten rid of him in January, when his form dipped. I find it ironic how some of the media are trying to make Diego look like the victim and make Conte and Chelsea look like a villain, where as many months back, they absolutely hated Costa with his actions and such.

The Media circus is bound to get worse, when Costa arrives in Madrid ...........Unfortunately the airing of  dirty washing in public is not a good image for our club........Costa is behaving like a stroppy spotty teenager, whilst CFC is obviously treading on eggshells like an exasperated parent.....

Regarding Athletico Madrid.......don't expect any favours from them.....they will no doubt be doing everything they can to manipulate the situation so they can get Costa for peanuts.......they are a bunch of #*€£ers ..
