Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Mutu got ordered to pay £15mill for breach of contract didn't he?

If Costa refuses to come back and train he's breaching his contract. I'd imagine given he's probably on a lot more money the award could be much bigger.

And report Athletico for tapping up, can't imagine FIFA looking too kindly on them given they're already on a transfer ban

Amen to that.

They can go take a good f**k at themselves after the stones and lukaku treatment we got, I wouldn't give them warm piss on a hot day let alone one of the best strikers in the league.

Liked this but that's not enough.  f**k them to the end of the earth and back.

It's a sad end.

I love Costa as a player, I think he's phenomenal and probably the most natural goal scorer I've ever seen play for us.

He fired us to two titles in three seasons and so I'll always be thankful for his contribution to our success.

Just a shame he seems intent on burning all bridges with the club to return to Spain.

Is Costa that thick he still hasn't worked out that the biggest way to wind Conte up would be to return to the club, be around the training ground etc. Conte wants Costa as far away from the club as possible and Costa is doing exactly that. Do the complete opposite and pick up your wages and that would really wind the manager up.

It's sad to see him behave like that and potentially threw his career away. I know he's all about ' I love Ateltico' at moment, but they must have a bit of doubt after witnessing his behavior. From Conte's point of view, even that text message was a bit ordinary, he was basically telling Costa - you got your wish, you may go now, any normal human being would have played along and secure a quick exit instead of kicking up a sh1tstorm.

I've been a staunch defender of Diego within reason, but the latest move, he is asking us to lower his price for Athletico, so hold on, cut our leverage by saying he ONLY wants Athletico, then moans when we want his market value, so his club of choice or nowhere and at a cut rate that suits them better, who the f**k does he think he is?

Diego can do one! I loved the guy but this is ridiculous. With the current market the way it is he should be worth £70-80 million, at a minimum we should get £50 million at least if we look to give a reduced price.

The guy cannot hold us to ransom when we pay his wages, it's as simple as that. We'll have Griezmann or Koke if they can't afford to pay the fee for Costa.

On his latest Insta story, he's in a gym in Chelsea shorts but can't tell if it's in Cobham or not.

These look like last season's Adidas shorts. If he were at Cobham, he would be wearing Nike shorts.

I never really took to Diego Costa, I have found myself defending him to fans of other clubs on occasion but let's face it, apart from a spell under Conte, Costa always appeared to be on the edge. If we can sue him for breach of contract well and good - I suppose that might depend on whatever was agreed with him in January.

If I was in charge at Atletico I'd be thinking long and hard before committing to take him back - the guy is a little bit nuts...

A criminal?
If you want to be respected by your club and manager..

1) Start by not telling your new manager on his first day that you want to leave the club on his first day in charge: “On Conte’s first day, I told him that I wanted to join Atlético and he was upset with me and didn’t even look at me. Luckily, I started to score goals.”

2) Next, don’t try and blatantly engineer a move throughout that first summer. “I did all that I could to return but it didn’t happen. When Atlético had to wait for me, they didn’t wait.”

3) After that, don’t then try and engineer a move away from the club again in January.

4) When that move fails to materialise, don’t have a blazing row with the manager in training.

5) Having been told that you are no longer wanted at the club at the end of the season, having spent 18 months telling them you want to leave, don’t effectively go on strike and refuse to come back to England until your club agree to sell you to the one club you want to join, despite being under contract and Chelsea having no obligation to sell to a specific club. Particularly when that club is banned from registering players.
