When I was 10 I got the 2001 white away shirt with 'Terry 26' on the back of it for Christmas. Even with Desailly as captain you could tell Terry was being lined up as his heir, which is quite something given he was 20(?) at the time. 14 years' later he's about to win his 4th league for us; unreal. He's been an ever present for all but the first 3 or so years I've supported Chels- it doesn't bear thinking about when he finally does retire. Ridiculous as it sounds, but he's been one of the few constants as I've grown from a small kid into a functioning (!) adult...

Congratulations on being a functioning adult. I haven't got there yet.

So tough to decide. All three have good reason to be first.

Separated by whiskers. I think it's JT for me, though. He's been here the longest and has captained the team, whilst being the main man behind the scenes too. If lampard hadn't I remember asking myself this last season and deciding on Lamps. Drogba with all his goals, his cup finals, big game performances and the all round warrior-like role he has performed over the years.

I think you can add Cech to the list for all his years of service. All four are legends. Ashley Cole deserves an honourable mention too.

Gullit needs to be in their in my opinion, his signing pretty much kick started the revolution under hoddle and put our club up there as a place to go.

I think is JT, for him chelsea is his life, chelsea is John and John is chelsea, I can't see him playing for any other team but chelsea NEVER.

Is more like what Gerrard means to Liverpool Lampard comes right straight after him, Drogba, and Cech.. He deserves player of the year for me along side Eden

I actually don't like these votes. Reason being is it does an injustice to the generations that came befor but just lest successful. For me wise was a legend. Not as good a player as any listed but commitment to the club, effort on the pitch and representing the club. Dixon, osgood etc all legends in there own right and huge figure within the clubs history. The simple equation of succes = legend status is a flawed one for me

Splitting hairs yes, could cause a few unnecessary arguments, especially with the ones such as me who took a disliking to Frank.

I like Didier the best out of all of them, but John Terry is the biggest legend hands down.

John Terry is the finest centre back in the premier league era and is a one club man very rare these days. But his copybook is blighted by Moscow, Kalou was down to take the fifth penalty but Terry took the ball off him because he wanted to be the man who went down as winning our first Champions League. Kalou took the sixth penalty and scored.

Terry, he's in Chelsea since 16 years old, he made all that way and now he's our leader, captain, he's almost everything for the team. He's example for a loyal player, amazing player and amazing leader. He's the finest legend.

Then again if you asked me on the day after Munich I would have said Drogba. Or if you'd asked me at the end of last season i'd probably have said Lampard.

Noticed a lot of people saying about Zola, Osgood etc.. I was only interested in who people would say out of these 3.

Simply because last year, I think Frank would of topped people's list. Cech, of course is also a legend but I didn't think he'd get any votes.

Sorry for not making it more clear.

Obviously JT. London lad, One club player.

Drogba is a much better person than the other two but comes a close second to JT. Lampard has tarnished his legacy in my view by lying about his city deal.

Good point.handing out platitudes is all well and good but I prefer the warts and all approach.

There isn't a blot on his copybook for stepping up to take the decisive penalty for f**ks sake. He was the captain so implying some gloryseeking motive is absolutely unfair.

The only reason there was a debate about who would take that penalty is because Drogba got himself sent off.

Wait, desperately wanting to score a penalty for us is a bad thing now? That makes no sense at all.

Tough one! The way I see it JT's job is the easiest as he is a defender. He reacts and anticipates instead of creating like Drogs or Frank. In a broad sense I'm more of a creator-type so I go for either Didi or Frank..... I'm a bigger Drogs fan so I go for him. It is not a sense based argument just what I feel. Drogba for me.

All are huge figures for the club and JT continues to be so on the pitch as well. Amazing players!
