Why? He's gone now, history, time to move on.

Another legend moves on ,but your right we move on.

Bloke was a legend and instrumental in our success. However we need to move on immediately and stop moaning about holding onto him and getting more money etc. This is modern football, players have no emotional attachment, so why should we. I feel that the only two players in the past decade that showed any genuine emotion towards the fans are JT and Lamps.

Well it's hard to compare them as they play diferent positions but Lamp played more matches for Chelsea, scored more goal (duh). For me when I think about Chelsea, Frank Lampard comes to mind. He's been absolute success and without him I don't think Chelsea would be as good of a team from 2001 to hmm 2011.

JT is still playing for Chelsea so we will see how things go.

mmmmm.....surely you're not so obtuse to be able to recognize that what sergio meant by his choice of "superb" in the context is the  club's and more probably the owner's rather classy attitude in dealing with this - an acceptance of a decade of great service that Cech has given us & that the timing was right for him to depart. Furthermore, they have recognized that players' families are just as if not more important than football. Surely they are right in that attitude are they not & especially so as a reward to just such a player as Cech. I for one want to be associated with a club that has such an attitude when it comes to respecting such a player's choices after such marvellous service. We should be & continue to be setting our own standard in respect to these matters & evincing a standard that does us proud. If you & others can't handle that then surely that is more a reflection on you is it not? To use Luiz as your example of "superb" business is hardly apposite & only reflects the transfer amount secured. True it is that it was a phenomenal amount of money to have received - almost farcical really - but it is very unhelpful to use that as a marker in respect to Cech. Further, to say, as you do, that we should've got 20 mill or so is ridiculous & equally hyperbolic on your part. 

 

We are Chels - we are classy - try to remember that in future.

 

Luiz was a superb transfer, trying to go into detail just to prove a point on your end is a bit silly, it was obviously a superb transfer.

 

Classy attitude is something that benefits others, I'm not in favour of that, being classy will cost us.

Sad day for us when Cech put on the Arsenal shirt, and to be fair it will tarnish his legacy at Chelsea,I will lose some respect for the man. It's one thing to be on loan at City for a year at the end of your career, but completely different signing for one of our main rivals for the next 4-5 years. Maybe Roman is just a really nice man, or he just got too arrogant allowing us to strengthen Arsenal. With a few more major signings like this, they will get pretty close to us.

Just a reminder .... he's made more than 300 appearances and won 4 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, 1 Champions League and 1 Europa League title.
