Radamel "the project" Falcao

Featured Replies

Dropped by his national team yet still good enough for Jose?

He's getting this one woefully wrong. Back out, now.

Just about every member of the team, bar Cuadrado and James should be dropped. All of their strikers were isolated and had no service. If one of Cuadrado or James did some positive, there was absolutely no backing from the midfield and fullbacks. It's no surprise they only scored 1 goal.

Falcao as backup is a good move with zero downside.

^ On £130k a week?

1. Any wage discussion is purely hypothetical

2. That figure is not far off from what Drogba was supposedly earning last season.

3. Considering FFP that wage hit is inconsequential and that is also why we were able to pay Drogba 100k/week.

4. Judge the player and his contribution, not the financial outlay.

Cuadrado was terrible last night.

He should have been sent off and couldn't control the ball whenever it came to him. The whole Columbian side bar the back 5 were awful.

MONACO DEMAND LOFTUS-CHEEK AND CO

Monaco will ask for three Chelsea players on loan as part of the deal that will see striker Radamel Falcao join the Blues this summer, according to reports in L'Equipe.

And the French sports daily says the youngsters the Ligue 1 club want in the Principality next season are Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Ake and Andreas Christensen.

If RLC is included in this deal after how Jose's talked him up there will be a lot of disgruntled and unhappy Chelsea fans.

It doesn't matter what we do, there are plenty of those anyway.

Hasn't Ake already been loaned out?

I must say I would be dissapointed if RLC gets loaned out, lots of us have been looking forward to seeing an academy player in the starting line up now and then.

The good news about this news is that it seems the deal isn't done yet. Hopefully we back out.

Costa Remy and Bertrand Traore as third choice but he can also play outwide for us, would i be the only one happy with those 3 options for us next season?.

I would happily go in to the season with that.

How come?

Costa and Remy we injured at the same time more than once last season. That would leave us with a winger who played as a striker in the Eredivisie and did reasonable but looked knackered after 70 mins as our only option.

I wouldn't be looking forward to that personally.

During the coverage of Monday’s Copa América semi-final between Chile and Peru, it was announced on Colombian TV that Radamel Falcao has signed a contract with Chelsea.

It has been reported over the past couple of weeks that José Mourinho has been keen to bring the Colombian striker to Stamford Bridge following the retirement of Didier Drogba.

During the Colombian TV show Gol Caracol, journalist Javier Hernández Bonett announced that Falcao had signed a Chelsea contract that day.

Chelsea have been wanting to take the 29-year-old on a season long loan and it appears they will be doing so for the 2015-16 season if the Colombian journalist is correct.

Bonett also added that Falcao will be presented as a Chelsea player on 19 or 20 July in Canada, where Chelsea will be training.

The Premier League champions face New York Red Bulls on 23 July in their first pre-season match this summer.

Radamel Falcao was a major disappointment for Manchester United last season, during a season-long loan from AS Monaco. He scored only four goals in his 26 Premier League appearances.

It was reported last week that Monaco could receive up to three young Chelsea players as part of a loan deal for this coming season.
