Pep Guardiola: Bayern Munich boss wants to coach in England

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola says he is leaving the club to manage in England.

The former Barcelona boss recently announced he would not extend his contract in Germany when it expires at the end of this season.

Guardiola, 44, linked with Premier League clubs Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, said: "I haven't decided on a new club yet.

"I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England."

He added: "That is the reason I have taken this decision."

"Experience a new city".  If it was only on that, surely it would be London over Manchester?

Sounds like a little statement thrown out there to get the trio of clubs bidding on him.

Guardiola definitely isn't coming here. The club would've announced it already as it would improve our attraction in the transfer market.

I think he has already signed at one of the Manchester clubs, the only slim chance we have of getting him, would be if we managed to qualify for the champions league, which is highly unlikely.

Yeah and I didn't like that either. I'm not completely against Pep coming here in all honesty but I just don't like the guy.

At the time, I couldn't decide between whether I thought it was a bit of fun or that he was a twat.  When he signed for us, I of course decided it was the former

 

But no harm in it really.  Though if Pep hasn't already signed for anyone, it does come across as a bit of upping his price, pimping himself for a better deal.  Whereas I think Eden was just having fun.

If he comes to the PL he'll go to City, I'm sure. They have a squad that's ready made for success while Chelsea's needs rebuilding, and based on his career so far he's not planning for the long term.
