March 25, 201610 yr Don't like the proposed changes to the Champions League, 32-team knock-out round, two groups of eight, two group winners advance to the final... meh.
March 25, 201610 yr Wouldn';t they mean they've basically swapped the UEFA cup and CL? UEFA used to be just knockout, then they changed to groups.
March 25, 201610 yr "When Leo Messi quits football there will probably be a huge sink-hole in Barcelona," Guardiola joked with RAC1 on Friday. "There won't be Trebles, but of course, if Barcelona keeps doing things well, they might be able to fight against Bayern Munich." -Pep Shots fired at Barca
March 26, 201610 yr Christ, embarrassing, how can he face his family after that?? It's the kind of thing that would have me questioning why i would want to watch or play the game anymore if that was happening over here. This sport is in desperate need of the some sportsmanship, it's become a win at all costs sport. Even cheating has become accepted. "When Leo Messi quits football there will probably be a huge sink-hole in Barcelona," Guardiola joked with RAC1 on Friday. "There won't be Trebles, but of course, if Barcelona keeps doing things well, they might be able to fight against Bayern Munich." -Pep Shots fired at Barca If Barcelona sold Messi right now i'm pretty sure they would do ok, they aren't exactly going to struggle with players like Suarez and Neymar in their team.
March 26, 201610 yr Don't like the proposed changes to the Champions League, 32-team knock-out round, two groups of eight, two group winners advance to the final... meh. More 'big' games between 'big' teams means more money for UEFA. Simple as.
March 26, 201610 yr In the Shrewsbury game I went to yesterday, there were three separate times there was a drop ball restarting the game (due to the ref being completely ridiculous at stopping the game for a "head injury" when it was clear that there wasn't one). On each occasion the drop ball was uncontested and the team who "won" the ball immediately kicked it back to the other team. So, why didn't they just let them have it from the drop ball. At least one of the times the match was stopped, no team had the advantage so I was surprised that they didn't both go for it. Which made me think - when did you last see a drop ball that was contested properly? I'm not sure why, but the whole thing irritated me!
March 26, 201610 yr Author Gamesmanship has overtaken competitiveness. You're playing a game with the intention being to win, if he means sticking a boot in on a drop ball, so be it. Too much "niceness" in football now.
March 26, 201610 yr Yeah it was the whole "after you" "no, after you" shenanigans that got to me. Just seems really false to me when the next minute they're falling over at the slightest touch.
March 26, 201610 yr He deserves jail time and what comes with it, no question. However it's the sheer inconsistency and double standards the courts use in sexual cases that is baffling to me. It's not just sexual cases. Females are treated more leniently for crimes of all types. Criminal court is one of the few places in which females have a huge advantage.
March 26, 201610 yr What a goal by Kroos He knew Butland picked up an injury and just went for it, i would say it's a clever goal more than a great goal. If Butland hadn't picked up an injury, he probably would have saved it. Butland should have just kicked the ball out of play instead of clearing it just before. By not clearing it, he gave Germany the chance. Edited March 26, 201610 yr by Scott Harris
March 26, 201610 yr Poor from butland. Once he has cleared that ball, he shouldve just sat down and signalled to the bench. It's that sort of naivety that has cost us on so many occasions. He's young and hopefully he will learn. Apart from that we played okay. England do the same thing as us when we try to play out from a goal kick, it goes out to a full back, and then back to the keeper to lump forward! Really frustrates me tbh.
March 26, 201610 yr Germany have Kroos... we have Jordan f**king Henderson, says it all really. Awful effort.
March 26, 201610 yr England have played the better football, but they don't have the killer players that Germany have. Plus our defense is the worst it's probably ever been. Germany haven't had to play anywhere near their best and they are still 2-0 up, should be 3. Shows the difference in class between the 2 sides.
March 26, 201610 yr Always rated Gomez, we (Chelsea) should have signed him (or Mandzukic) when we had the chance. Edited March 26, 201610 yr by the special one
March 26, 201610 yr And now probably the only England player with killer instinct drags us back into the game.
March 26, 201610 yr What is Cahill doing? He's so shoddy, marking is awful.Terrible for their 2nd goal, don't even know what he's supposed to be doing. Great goal by kane.
March 26, 201610 yr Hopefully this display takes Henderson out of the euro squad, f**king dog muck. Alli and kane been fantastic, Cahill is f**king useless
March 26, 201610 yr Kane really is top draw, so jealous of some of the potential in spuds squad right now. If only we gave youth the same opportunity and faith.
