What I don't get is why Madrid don't seem to be bidding for him. Do they want to get Ramos tied up first? Just seems weird, makes me wonder if they're trying to get him as cheap as possible or are willing to wait until he's on a free next year.

It's clear that Madrid want David and he wants to go back to Madrid where his GF is. The thing that's holding it up is that I think we're fed up of selling players on the cheap and want about £35m for him. Even though he's in the last year of his contract that is fair and we'll be willing and able to take a loss on him going on a free.

If he had just signed a new contract, we'd easily have been able to get adequate money for him and he'd likely be already in Madrid. By not doing so, Madrid know they can get him for free next year, we won't sell him cheaply and he has to suffer the whole saga.

Its odd how we are said to have gone backwards from last year, we are in crisis etc but very little has been said about Utd. They have weakened their strike force significantly, keeper is obviously a problem and their centre backs are still severely lacking.

apparently city are after pedro too and are willing to overspend to get him. so their squad is already old enough and now they want to add a 28 year old pedro too? they really are going into desperation mode to win that title.

If it works though then it will be justified

Exactly.

He's a goal scorer and you know what you are getting with him.

He'd easily add to any of the top 4's squads.

28 isn't that old either. 4 year deal and he's gone when he's 32...not bad

Especially if he fires you to a couple of trophies, which is he is likely to do. Even if he's pace has gone by 31 then you've still got value out of the deal as a whole I would say.

I wouldn't even say city's squad is old. 1 or 2 key players over 32, all the rest have at least 3 years left at the highest level.

It's like when ancelotti took over, we were supposed to have a squad on the decline, but we won the league year, and a quite a few were still around 3 year's later to lift the champions league.

Players like De Gea really annoy me. His on insane wages and apparently he isn't in the right frame of mind to play. If United suddenly stopped paying i bet he would start playing. Stop whining and do the job you signed up for.

If i was to tell my boss that i wasn't in the right frame of mind to work for a month i'm pretty sure i would be sacked.

The whole De Gea situation is becoming quite laughable now, He's supposedly said now he's shocked he isn't being selected. Obviously another player Van Gaal has clashed with and not a great deal of communication going on. P.S. Come on Villa. Gustede to come off the bench and score the winner 2-1.

Last season United's defenders were pulling and pushing more players from set pieces than any other team and they got away with, it looks like the same is going to happen again this season.
