I think this is why Hazard isn't quite at Ronaldo/Messi levels yet as he can go missing for long periods of time.  He was vritually non-existent that half.

Remy's been really irresponsible getting caught offside like that. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's subbed off.

Utterly disagree. Ivan scored plenty last season. Besides, they are defenders, not wingers. There's a mistaken belief that all wingers need to be Roberto Carlos or Dani Alves.

Like playing with no attack, we've been toothless. Remy poor with his positioning though we aren't helping his cause with our slow recycling of the ball in midfield. Cesc and Eden have both been largely anonymous.

Half time, i think we have been alright, we should be level to be fair, Ramires should have scored. We probably could have created more chances had Remy stayed onside, this is Remy's first real off game since he moved to the club i think. If we can create chances a bit quicker we can get back into this. Willian and Ramires have been our best players so far and we need to get Hazard more involved, Fabregas needs to speed up a bit too, he's too hesitant today.

A bit of work to do at half time but not unduly worried.  We are generally playing well, with the odd sloppy pass now and then.  Remy needs to stop being caught offside.  Sometimes we are playing too narrow defensively and leaving holes on the flanks but I expect the tempo to be a bit more up beat the second half...Falcao to start the second half?

It's been an average performance, we've certainly played worse in the 2nd half of last season, realistically should be 1-1 as both sides have had one proper chance to score. Impressed with Willian and Ramires has been better than all pre season.

No he isn't overrated and he does often play well when he starts.

Not been great, think we really miss costa's presence and ability to occupy defenders.

Disappointing how often we use the long throw into the box tactic. It isn't the most effective or prettiest tactic at the best of times, but with remy vs mertasacker it is ridiculous.

We had the Cesc & Hazard issue last season & I felt Jose would have addressed it this summer. I feel he focuses too much on negating our opponents than focusing on our strengths, Ramires seems to be his weapon in this respect. Long term I reckon we will regret missing out on Sterling.

I'd play Moses on for Hazard, but Jose is reluctant to ever hook him, also you never know when Hazard produce magic all of a sudden.
