July 28, 20169 yr As good as aina has been, and i do raye him highly, i cant help but feel ake wouldve been even more ready to push for a place at left back. Chalobah has also done well but i think ake is a better midfielder than him aswell. Really think we may have missed the boat with ake now tbh, i can see him being sold on if he does well for Bournemouth this season, hopefully we insert a biy back clause this time.
July 29, 20169 yr Yup, and if we dont plan on starting him, i hope we can find a great team where he can play first division football as a starter. No bench please unless we plan on giving him meaningful minutes. My trust in the loan system is finished. Honestly, I think the loan system, and especially the chelsea loan system, is basically to finish off youth player's careers before it has even begun, Like the person above said, Ake deserved his oppurtunity but was loaned off. Aina is just 19, a season playing the odd game with us or in the reserves wont deter his development much, but i feel the loan system permanently scars some of these players. Moreover, our staff and youth coaches must feel obliged to somehow make him better, develop him more. They must understand his game and know exactly what aspects (physical, mental or some part of his game needs to be worked on). On the other hand, the coaches and managers of any other team could not possibly care less. I feel the "FIFA" has made loans into some out-of-the-world thing where the player comes back as a much better player. Its simply not true. I feel the only reason a player should be loaned out is for game time. And that too when he is 21/22. I just dont see the need of a loan for a 19 year old who I think has not played a single game at senior level.
July 31, 20169 yr Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman, 22, is set to join Schalke on a season-long loan deal less than year after joining the Blues for more than £20m. (Evening Standard) Aina to get a shot this year?
July 31, 20169 yr Only 19 and seems to show decent composure and intelligence on the ball. He is still young so has a little more to improve on bit hope we show faith in him and refuse to loan him out.
July 31, 20169 yr Author Baba Rahman is on his way to Schalke on loan. Does it mean Conte is ready to give Aina a chance? Aina is only 19 years old, but we couldn't miss his talent, he's a great defender and while playing with world class players he will gain so much experience, he will learn from the best and take from it. Giving him a chance to start play regularly for us in the starting lineup only will raise his confidence, level, morale and it will show that we're still looking for our academy players to success. Of course that if Aina is going to play he will do mistakes, every player does, the first games won't be easy for him, but with the time he will improve more and more, and we won't need to pay crazy prices for RB. Until now his pre-season is very good, he's one of the most impressing players, he made a big error in his last game against Real Madrid when he lost the ball while dribbling and then it led to the first goal, but he didn't lose his confidence, he kept playing and in my opinion he put good performance, I don't remember any play running and passing by him, he was strong and we knew that we have our RB on the position. I'm sure that he will think twice before dribbling forward in the next game, it was an acceptable mistake for me. I would happy to see this lad as our RB from now, with all respect to Ivanovic, we should think about our future and I'm sorry to say that but Ivanovic isn't really the Ivanovic we know.

For me it's either Azpi or Aina in the starting XI. I think we need at least one full back to be a threat for us offensively every game, not a dig at Aina or Azpi but I don't get the impression that would happen with them both in the team. They get the loans so they can actually get some minutes at senior level under their belt.
August 4, 20169 yr Sounds like he had a really good game against Milan. Hope the lad gets a chance as with no Zouma, our defence is crying out for a younger player with a bit of pace and as big a fan I have been of Ivan over the seasons, to carry on playing him at full-back would be suicidal.
August 4, 20169 yr Moved from the reserves forum to general Chelsea forum.. Well that's settled then, better get Conte on the phone and tell him!
August 4, 20169 yr Moved from the reserves forum to general Chelsea forum.. you're doing this a lot lately, i like it. good signs for the youth
August 4, 20169 yr Well that's settled then, better get Conte on the phone and tell him! To be fair he should of been moved up when he got given the #34 last year.
August 12, 20169 yr That is a really badly edited video. Seems a good bloke though, very down to earth
August 24, 20169 yr So, if he's gone, and Miazga is being sent out on loan, no word on Tomori making the jump up, then that means, until Zouma is back, we are down to the bare bones along the back 4
August 24, 20169 yr Definitly made a mistake before Rovers penalty. Allowed his man to turn in midfield and found himself in nomansland when he passed his teammate through but otherwise it sounds like he did a good job.
