Who would want to come here ? A famously trigger happy board, no CL next season, no particular financial incentive as the new T.V. deal has made our league more financially competitive except where City are concerned as they seem more than happy to outspend all and sundry. Not that I'm complaining about that as we did it for long enough.

It's really difficult to see which direction we are taking at the moment. As 2 and a half seasons seems to be the limit we keep a manager for I wonder if someone like Hughes or Pardew might be worth a punt. They might see it as a step up and a chance to see if they can cut it at a club with very high expectations.

I just don't see a manager from the "top tier" wanting to come to Chelsea at the moment, being out of Europe next Year might be a good chance to take a new direction and a more down to earth approach. Probably won't happen though and as long as its not Brenda I think I can cope with just about anyone the board throws at us.

Who wants to earn £50m for 2.5 years work ?

Offer Hiddink all the money in the world to stay at this club. I know he's 69 and it's unlikely but even just one more year would be brilliant in my opinion, calmness at this club is what we need after a turbulent couple of years with Mourinho and Benitez

I reckon it will be Pelligrini, imagine Pelligrini as manager with Ivan as captain

Yeah now city have made this announcement I cannot see them having a problem with us opening negotiations for him. So long as it is done after our remaining fixtures with them.

Guus Hiddink is the most suitable man to be our manager and as we all know, if Roman does somehow manage to persuade Guus to accept a permanent contract for 3 years or whatever amount of time period, he will be sacked just like all the others have been sacked before him.

The real problem at Chelsea is the Madam CEO - she is the one who should be sacked.

I don't want to see Pellegrini coming to Chelsea with his citeh mates or any other big time Foreign Charlie Hasbeen and his cronies, as that will mean a hell of upheaval again, just what we don't need, we have surely had enough of all that sh*t this season.

We should persuade Guus to stay for another season and bring in Didier Drogba to learn from him and also tell JT and Lamps that they can be coaches in our academy when they are ready to hang up their boots.

I want to see some one come in and take a serious interest in utilising our own academy youth players not keep buying hasbeens or loanee type bench warmers.

That's exactly what I would like to see although I think getting Drogba, Lamps & JT involved is perhaps just fantasy stuff - especially for one of them to actually become coach. Can't see that happening, but it would be good if one or all were involved in some capacity, even if we ended up appointing someone along the lines of Eddie Howe.

Feeding off scraps from City, who will now become the dominant force in English football ... sounds about right ;).

I think Simeone is probably the hottest prospect at the moment. Pep is a great manager, but I am actually happy he didn't come here. I want the the powerhouse midfield back, not tikki-takka!

I struggle to see how anyone would welcome the idea of Pellegrini joining us.

He has, on the whole, been incredibly underwhelming with City, who continue to underachieve with him in charge.

City have never dominated the Premiership under him despite having in my opinion the best squad and essentially unlimited recourses; the year he won it was hardly convincing let's be honest.

They have been worse in Europe, never getting to the business end of the competition.... perhaps they will progress further this year but with that squad/recourses, for me, the semi finals should really be par for the course.

He also just comes across as a bit of a wet lettuce and looks like he should be a spooky butler in a haunted house ..... I can't think of many people who I would be less enthused by.

I think we're feeding off the scraps aren't we. Both City and United will have Pep and Jose. Arsenal will have Whinger who is good enough to keep them competitive at least.

We on the other hand, will have no CL, no leadership on the pitch and no sense of direction. Feels like pretty crappy really.

I really do think we should look to keep Hiddink beyond the summer. With Pep now going to City, I don't see any potential upgrades on what we've got already who would want to come. With no Champions League on offer next season, I don't think Simeone would be interested. Ideally, I'd like to go for Pochettino but there's no way Spurs will let him go.

Let's stick with what we've got and give Guus the chance to get us back into the Top Four next season.

I think Pellegrino just became a very real possibility.

Premier League experience.

No compensation to pay.

Less controversial figure than Jose.

Wouldn't bet against it.

and a chance to prove his previous employers wrong

What a surprise, Pep took the safe option and went to the club with the biggest and best squad, rather than taking a challenge and trying to get us back to the top, typical, though I'm not that keen on him anyway.

But being objective why would he choose Chelsea over City?

They do have a better squad and are better placed to win things than ourselves.

Why take on a massive project like ourselves when he can continue his unparalleled, sustained success in a third country?

why would any top manager (I know money talks) in his right mind want to be at our club

the life expectancy is 1 or 2 seasons at most

no control over player transfers

no CL football next season

mid table this season (not yet though)

etc.

I don't like him, but if Pellegreni does swap Manchester for Cobham we may be slightly fortunate under these circumstances

either way whomever gets the job wont be around long term, thats a given

Our record of hire abd fire warned Guadiola off. I would be happy with Pelligrini he knows the Premiership and the players. Rather him than untried types like Sampauli or Slutzsky who are gettimg mentions

Chile's Copa America winning boss Jorge Sampaoli remains the favourite to take over the helm at Stamford Bridge next term with odds of 5/4 while Italy coach Antonio Conte has odds of 3/1 to be the new Blues boss.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is level with Pellegrini with odds of 6/1 while Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is 8/1 favourite to become the new Chelsea manager.

For what it's worth.

I doubt it warned him ff, he seems to be on a 3 tear stint at each club and that would seem to be our limit too.

"why would any top manager (I know money talks) in his right mind want to be at our club

Please kindly remind me how many years Ericksson, Hughes, Mancini and now Manuel used as City and tell me Pep is guaranteed long term even if he fails. The coach not having control over transfer is an assumption not a fact, its tiring hearing it repeatedly.

Not the smartest bloke and please kindly correct me if I'm wrong, with the exception of Wenger, which top profile club has had a manager spend 4-5yrs in charge of recent.

What a surprise, Pep took the safe option and went to the club with the biggest and best squad.

Our recent transfer strategy has been built around buying players for Pep Guardiola to come manage us.

Only for him to bugger off to Man City.

That's how clueless our Board is.

Sherlock-tier assumption. Pep openly stated he has always dreamt of taking charge at Utd but just like us, they don't look balanced, he balked. Their board clueless also?. He's nothing but a coward.
