very pleasing to see him get 'promoted' the club needs to chance its arm and put faith in their academy product

as the Jorge Mendes style of shopping for tikka -takka 'Barca' clones has put the club in one helluva a hole

This is like that time people thought Traore getting a work permit meant he was going to play for us.

Or did you mean people thought he would be a regular in the first team, just because he got a work permit ? Because I don't know anyone who would think that.

I seem to remember a lot of people excited that, when he got his work permit, he'd be challenging or even starting in our first team.  Maybe a minority, but I certainly seem to remember some thinking this.
