I think Sarri will be announced today. Easier to say goodbye to Conte with a new guy coming in.

Can Sarri speak English?

Fluently.

I’m sure Cesc has done something like this before (think it was maybe with Jose) so not 100% I’m buying that it’s a mistake, expect better from a senior pro

This is what I thought, as well, but then David Amoyal goes and says that “Sarri does not speak a lick of English”.  Either he is unaware or just assumes, but I know a lot of us were under the impression that he is fluent from his time working in London.

Yes if you work in the financial sector in London it's pretty much a required :laugh2:

You just need to copy the link and paste it here, the forum automatically embeds it.

Thank you - weird, I tried that and it just came up as a link! Maybe my phone is just really slow to refresh these things (more than likely)

The linked worked but just took to a page that “no longer exists”

What did Cesc mistakenly press?

He liked a tweet celebrating Conte leaving.

Does seem from the outside looking in, there were players who either didn't take to Conte at all or lose respect for him. It's all a bit weird how so many players at the end of the first season and into the second season started becoming a bit vocal about their discontent. Costa was the first player to fall out with him it seems, then we heard Fabregas critiquing the style of football vs Barcelona, the same from Hazard, then Rudiger mentioned not understanding why we sat back so much, then Luiz was totally frozen out the squad for whatever reason (maybe due to legit injury, but who knows) and then Willian showing his discontent and frustration visibly by walking down the tunnel when subbed and also via social media posts. All seems a bit too coincidental tbh, but who knows the truth.

Classy as always JT.

Oh what a shame we could not just worked together in harmony for 1 more year. A much cleaner break.

Wish we could've kept him in the team last year. As you say, the break would've been much cleaner, and actually might not have happened. I'm sure JT wants to play, but Chelsea should definitely try to bring him into the team in some way, whether as a player or a part of Sarri's back room staff. His presence in the training room are obviously incredibly difficult to replace, and his leadership is evident even when he wasn't on the pitch or in the team in general.

Conte can't be in charge of a good quality team - the way he is yelling at them from the sideline, the defensive tactics, the full commitment in defense he requires - believe it or not, players like Hazard, Costa, Willian, Luiz and Fabregas don't like it. that's just not the way you treat stars.  And in football players are not equal.
