March 5, 201610 yr No ones said yet, so here goes we're staying up 40pts Yup I had thought of that when Stoke levelled it up.
March 5, 201610 yr RLC fan club will be calmer now then. Guy is bang average, work rate is utter dross too. Believing his own hype The bloke makes 4/5 sub appearances this season and you've already branded him bang average?
March 5, 201610 yr Bollocks that was disappointing, such a poor goal to give away all round. Remy did absolutely nothing and didn't even look interested, rlc was poor too when he came on. Strange subs really. Oh and clattenburg us a cheating c**t, no surprise he f**ked us over again, prick. What did twattenburg do this time?
March 5, 201610 yr Dead right gus us clueless with his subs We started the game with 2 DM's (pointless) to give protection in the midfield, then at the 80th minute when we need to defend he takes one of them off for a player that can't defend? Absolute insanity on Guus' part.
March 5, 201610 yr What did twattenburg do this time? Failed to give Pieters a second yellow for a cynical challenge on Oscar and then failed to give us clear penalty, again on Oscar.
March 5, 201610 yr Failed to give Pieters a second yellow for a cynical challenge on Oscar and then failed to give us clear penalty, again on Oscar. Me thinks MOTD won't be showing this tonight.
March 5, 201610 yr My apologies for the delay. What a goal that was! We got a gem on our hands. No apology needed. I didn't mean to be pushy, I could just sit and watch, and watch that lad's footwork. Appreciated Zinc.
March 5, 201610 yr The bloke makes 4/5 sub appearances this season and you've already branded him bang average? He is lazy as f**k right now. Look at Traore and Kenedy in their sub apps? Do you not see the difference? The guy is believing his own hype. He is not "that" good Edited March 5, 201610 yr by RickUK
March 5, 201610 yr The team seemed happy with a point. I guess the FA cup and CL is our priority so kinda makes sense. It was so obvious Stoke would score late on. RLC had some nice touches but he needs to be fair more aggressive and work harder.
March 5, 201610 yr Chelsea vs Stoke City 1-1 Highlights http://sportyhighlights.com/chlesea-vs-stoke-city-highlights-full-match/
March 5, 201610 yr We made stoke look a lot better than they really are no way should we be dominated possession wise against a team like that.
March 5, 201610 yr Hows it been on the match (moan) day thread. Not too surprised at the result with CL wed.Still unbeaten in the league under Guus.....UP THE CHELS!
March 5, 201610 yr The thing that worries me after games like today is that we are starting to have a mid table team mentality and this comes from both the manager and the players. The excuse until now was that we have to collect points, even if it's a draw. to climb up the table, Now the excuse is that we have an important CL game coming up. Accepting results and performances like today is setting the bar low and heading towards mediocrity, as winner mentality and having pressure to win every game is slowly replaced by complacency and excuses. We have :" relaxed " players now that apparently think it's acceptable to get paid as if you winning the CL and PL but actually produce mediocre performances and results. Ivanovic admitted in a interview that they could not handle the pressure of being champions and that says a lot about these players mentality, ambition and desire. I still think without Mou we would have not won the PL with this lot of players, And until a new manager comes and changes this " relaxed " atmosphere and demands a winning mentality every game, we won't see our beloved Chelsea going back to where it should be,

March 5, 201610 yr Very disappointing result today. Despite us getting a grip of the awfulness of the first half of the season we have only got as far as bare mediocrity. Three games versus Stoke and not a single victory. I really do fear that we won't bounce back from this and this level is where we might be at now for the foreseeable future. The big spending days are behind us, the intelligent buying days also look behind us and we're now content to draw at home against Stoke so we can have a slightly better than a snowballs chance in hell of beating PSG so we can get beaten by Real, Bayern or Barcelona a couple of weeks later. Another thing that is apparent is that whilst Hiddink has arrested the slide to the Chamionship, he's shown little to make anyone wish he was staying beyond this season. but saying that, I can't see any manager on earth getting this club back as one of Europes top sides any time soon. March 5, 201610 yr Quite a lot of hyperbole on this thread - perfect warm up for a champions league game imo, Stoke play inverted wingers with a compact middle, a UCL favourite, our wide full backs caused them problems at times. The most disappointing players today; Willian & Oscar. Willian did not play a counter game well and Oscar did not take up the number 10 positions in the box (his build up play was mostly good). Ramires would have been ideal today, Clattenburg anything but ideal.
March 5, 201610 yr Courtois has been doing this his whole career so far, pushing the ball back into the danger zone. Every keeper is told to push the ball to safety when they are making a save, it seem's like Courtois skipped that lesson. He was busy at the "how to steal your mates girlfriend" seminar held down the block
March 5, 201610 yr Just as well you joined the site at the end of January, you may not have lasted during the pre Guus shenanigans. I am a Chelsea fan since 1999 and I have been reading this forum for a long time and only recently decided to join,I remember the days when we used to finish 5th - 6th and be pleased with it. This team and current mentality kind if bring back those days and it's just not good enough for Chelsea anymore.
March 5, 201610 yr Missed this one. Thanks for the highlights link. Two great goals from two of our 'kids' this week. Disappointing result but let's hope Wednesday makes up for it!
March 5, 201610 yr What a joke of a game. Players trotting? Cmon we deserved more. We should have won it easily had we played with intensity. Still, great goal by Traore. Remy shouldn't play and RLC very weak performance IMO. William tried but it wasn't his day, especially the second half. Matic very poor again, and we don't create very much if Fabregas isn't playing. Well, it was clear that the team was thinking in the PSG game. My anecdote was to sit on the train back home by a Spuds supporter who kept calling me names in low voice. As I ignored him all the way he couldn't help himself to start insulting me and Chelsea in higher voice when I got up to leave on my station. He told me to support a proper team and not a "Micky mouse" of team, to which I answered back wether I should support a crap team that hasn't won anything in ages... He was fuming when I got off the train. Edited March 5, 201610 yr by Motörhead
March 5, 201610 yr Remember Guus is trying to resurrect a season that was going down the pan.He has done a great job of it and given our club a better profile on the way.I have been a fan since 63 so seen it all really. These aint bad times i can assure you.....ON WARDS AND UPWARDS!
March 5, 201610 yr Another two points thrown away...despite how sh*t we've been this season, we still could have been in top four race but draws have killed us...and how many sh*t goals have we conceded this season...we rarely get undone by great play/strike...often cos we've lost ball, teams counter and Courtois flaps
March 5, 201610 yr So glad I dragged my hungover backside across town for that one. Apart from Traore, that was just a huge waste of time. Uninspiring selection (apart from Traore), lethargic performance (apart from Traore) and it all felt so very inevitable. But I'll go back to something I said a while back. In January, we sold one of the few midfielders we had an didn't replace him. I said at the time that we should've been in for Imbula and the guy was brilliant today. In fact it was Imbula who tackled Willian and got them on the way for their goal. This isn't a case of 'I told you so' because it was clear to anyone paying attention that we've weakened our squad at almost every turn since last June and that's where this game, and this season, was lost. You could break down each players' performance but it's the same story. This squad simply isn't that good and leaving out our most important player, only to bring him on towards the end is stupefying. Stoke played well and could've easily scored more. If the club is actually easing up on the chase for a Europa League place through league qualification, in the hopes of pulling off an even bigger upset/miracle than 2012 then again we're focussing on the short-term to the detriment of everything else.
