How will you feel if Leicester lift the title at the Bridge?

Have to disagree with you there - I was in the MHU lower behind the corner flag and a few minutes after the final whistle I was one of the only people left from the entire section - hundreds stormed out. There was a thread on here where loads of people were voicing their annoyance at the walk-out rather than the performance. We didn't know for sure Lamps/Ashley wouldn't sign but we sure as hell had an idea they would be off so I was surprised so few people stayed.

I meant the boos sorry, not the numbers left. Like I said, you don't tend to get huge numbers if it isn't the actual final day in my experience which is a shame. I think the club has a large part to blame for that though because they didn't give us the chance to say goodbye properly to Lamps especially. When you compare the way this club handled it's legends to the way Liverpool treated Gerrard then that's a massive gulf.

I don't believe for a minute that their fans are more passionate than our's yet the club completely f**ked that up and I can absolutely see that happening with JT.

With Chelsea out of the running, I don't care that much about who wins the premiership.  However, I definitely don't want Arsenal nor Tottenham to win it, so I am hoping that Ranieri's crew can pull it off.  TO think, a year ago after the same number of matches, they were bottom of the table.  What Claudio and his players have achieved so far this season is astonishing.  I actually hope that they can pull it off.

I love Ranieri, I think he is very refreshing when interviewed and you can tell that he deeply cares. He was obviously a victim of the wealth of Roman as he wasn't a "big enough" name to manage Chelsea moving forward, but I think the Chelsea fans are thankful for what he did with us, for the position he got us in so we were an exciting prospect for Roman, and his reaction at Highbury.

How can we not applaud him?

If it makes no sound for us at the end of the day, let the foxes win. I wouldn´t like to see Wenger lifting anything else than an old, dirty Arsenal scarf and I would go berserk, if Pochettino with his Rottenham sh*tspur crew wourd make it.

Ranieri is and has always been a fine chap - what could he have done for us, if Roman had kept him?

claudio is indeed a fine chap but he bottled it big time when the pressure cranked up at the bridge, just hoping it does not happen now on the run in but i have a sneaky feeling that they are going to get reeled in

Isn't that if we win it?

Note I said for football not for us. Of course I prefer us to win the league but will be pleased if Leicester now go on and do the business.I still have a feeling City aren't out of it tbh. Just remember it could be far worse than Leicester winning it on our turf, Liverpool in 85/86 clinched the trophy at the Bridge.

I would be very happy for them. We have been out of title contention for a long time.

Biggest shock for me since Forest won it back in 1977/78.

Couldn't agree more, the Forest win then was a breath of fresh air, totally unexpected and everyone expected them to fold towards the end. They broke up the then expected domination of Liverpool which was always a good thing.

Out of interest, what defines  "storming out" ?

Is that any different from them just leaving at the end of the game?!

II think the booing has been a bit overblown to be honest.... it was a minority and I would describe it as groans of frustration rather than booing.

I always stay out of tradition but I know plenty who have been going years who would rather get back in the pub; each to their own I say.

Leicester have United, Everton and Chelsea in their final three games. Unfortunately I can see them messing it with that fixture list.

By comparison, I think Arsenal only play one or two teams in the top half of the table.

It would be just horrible if we allowed Arsenal and Whinger to win it.

I wont be there, but if I was i would happily be cheering leicester on. Id rather we lose and stop spurs/arsenal winning the league than us grab a vital 3 points in our hunt for 6th or whatever we're fighting for and spend all of next year putting up with our rivals being champions.

Also, Ranieri was a fantastic manager for this club and it would be great for him to win the league. Id be very happy for him to do it at the place he used to call home

Good luck Leicester - we have been out of the running for so long I'm not sure how anyone can say this season was the best chance for us to have won the league... there have been many seasons recently when we could/should have won it but this one we have never even been close to it!

I expect there will be a great atmosphere for a last game of the season if Leicester are on for the league (which sadly isn't a given) would love to be there. I imagine a majority of Chelsea fans would stay to join in the celebration and I think it could be fitting for Terry to present the trophy if it's his last game!

Would actually be nice if Chelsea fans started a push to get a bigger ticket allocation to Leicester (maybe fans giving up their seats for away supporters). And as has been said Ranieri is popular at Chelsea.

Anyway there is a long way to go soon and there are still 4 teams in with a chance.

would be great to see Claudio lift it at the bridge, but only after a loss or a draw!!.

I still have this horrible scenario in my mind of chelsea turning leicester over and handing it to arsenal on the last day

If it comes down to that, i hope we play our U18's and let Leicester have the title. Anyone but Arsenal, please!

Because the quality at the top of the league has been so low that had we put in a respectable effort last summer to retain the title, we probably would've done so.

Maybe I'm coming down with something because the idea of the greatest player in this club's history spending his last moments as a member of this club, on his patch no-less, handing over a trophy to another team is making me feel a little queasy. He deserves his own moment doesn't he, not for it to be shared with another team's.

Just a larger point, and again it's my fault for probably wording the name of the topic slightly confusingly, but I don't begrudge Leicester winning the title. It's not so much how do you feel about Leicester winning the league as it is how you feel about them doing so IN LIGHT of our failings and where we were last May.

I'd be OK with Leicester winning the league at SB - they've earned it.

It's probably worth remembering that if Leicester winning the title wasn't the main focus of attention this of this years Prem then Chelsea's abysmal title defence would be getting a LOT more attention and scrutiny - so in a way it's taken some of the heat off us this season.

Hope Leicester win it, they are showing mental strength and a great team spirit. I feel that this is the majority of what it takes to win titles. Its not all about money. If our players cared bout the club they would have not put in half arsed peformances because they didnt like the manager. This is the first season I can remember where I would not care if a large number 'regular players' left.

Seen people throw up the money thing and thought I'd throw this out there.

Leicester have a higher transfer net spend in the last two seasons than both Tottenham and Chelsea. All that 'big crisp' money buying the league.

Does that not have something to do with the fact we sold David Luiz, Mata, Lukaku for between £30m-£50m each?

We spent £71m on new players this season, £118m last, whereas Leicester spent £35m this and £20m last. The reason their net spending is so high is because they have not had massive player sales like we have.

Yes it is and I know exactly what you're saying and it doesn't really alter the point about new capital being put into the playing squad.

For a very poor, hastily assembled analogy, if I gave you a million pounds and then asked for £900,000 back you're not a millionaire despite being given a million pounds.

I just never get the whole net spend argument to be honest.

In laymans terms: we've spent close to £200m in the last two seasons and are 10th. They've spent £55m and are top. If Leicester are in a position where they don't need to sell to buy, then kudos too them. Why do they need to worry about net spend?

Unfortunately it seems our club are the only one's still sticking to the myth that is financial fair play. No other club seems to be fussed about it.

Just because we seem to have a "one in/ one out" policy, why does that mean other clubs have to follow suit? I personally think they should be applauded that with player sales of just £6million over the last two seasons they have spent significantly less than us, City, Arsenal and United and they have still put together a squad that at this moment is the best in the country.

For me net spend shows the willingness of a club to actually improve it's playing squad. It doesn't tell anywhere near the whole story, but what it says is where a club's ambitions lie.

So Leicester weren't just saving money in case they went down (although that strategy makes little sense now). They were giving it their best effort and trying to be better than they were last season. The same goes for Man City though, so it's no guarantee of success.

Arsenal are the classic case of not spending as much as they could and it has cost them titles in my opinion. This season, we did that too. The one-in/one-out policy saw us weaken our playing squad and (as I've said so many times that it's boring even to me) showed a lack of ambition.

That's fair enough, I agree with you there that we have weakened where we should have strengthened and kicked on, although I think that's the general opinion across most fans.

To be honest I think our issues this season run deeper than the lack of proper investment in the summer. That's a debate for another time though.

For me the issue wouldn't necessarily be Leicester winning the title at the Bridge; ever since it became clear that we were completely out of the title race (as early as September) and Leicester were actually realistic candidates (somewhat later) that has been my desired outcome for the season, particularly considering my personal connection to Leicester City, as well as the natural appeal of the underdog.

My concern is the horrible conflict which may present itself during the match. Actually seeing them lift the title at our home stadium (even with the consideration that it's us they're winning it from) wouldn't bother me one little bit - they have thoroughly deserved it. My issue is when thinking about the hypothetical (and not entirely unlikely) situation that Leicester have to get a result against us to win the title, and in doing so prevent Tottenham or Arsenal from doing so. The conflict and hence guilt would likely be exacerbated (or perhaps not, thinking about it) by the fact that we will, in all likelihood, have absolutely nothing to play for. I would be presented with the choice between willing my own team, at home, when we've already suffered enough this season, not to win, and willing against the very paragon of the plucky underdogs, my employers, from my home town, whose victory is entirely necessary to prevent two of the teams I despise most in the entire world from winning a long-awaited title.

That for me is an almost unthinkable and unbearable conflict of interest. I just desperately hope that Leicester win it at home against Everton the weekend before (which may also allow me to attend - and would spark a city-wide party). In all honesty, I just can't wait for this season to all be over.
