Interesting as I would have said the reverse. Joao Mario didn't look to have great close control. What we need is 2006 Michael Essien.

Neither player is that but I think Nainggolan is a bit closer.

Witsel often flatters to deceive. Maybe a decent signing but hope we don't go overboard on the price.

There is a reason Witsel has been stuck playing in Russia the past few years.

Witsel is a good player. However if we were looking to add energy to the midfield that isn't really his style.

Problem is there are so few box to box players out there (certainly few of the quality of Nainggolan) because everyone largely plays this static 4231.

Witsel would be a good signing if we got someone like Kante or Asamoah as well with more energy. A really left field solution would be (assuming we got Morata) to return Diego to Atletico in exchange for Saul Niguez who could add the energy we are after.

Please tell me what he can offer that Ruben can't? Other than experience of course.

Many players have similar attributes. Doesn't mean, they're all capable of performing at the top level which is what we should be aiming at. I'd love for RLC to make it at CFC, but he needs to show a whole lot more to compete for a starting place. You don't get too many chances to prove yourself at a club like Chelsea.

Key thing we're after is energy in midfield to fix our problems off the ball which leave our defence exposed.

In my mind RLC doesn't work hard enough without the ball to be the solution to our issue.

RLC has a terrible defensive work rate.  Nainggolan is a true box-to-box.  

Yeah he runs from box to box. Would much prefer someone that can inpact the play from box to box. Signing him would make the Ramires sale incredibly stupid, not much of an upgrade
