Radja Nainggolan

Witsel was probably the best player on the Belgium side. Nainggolan... meh. I didn't see last night why all the interest in signing him. The Belgium midfield was completely overplayed by the Italians.

I think with a coach who isn't clueless guiding him, he would be great for us.

I'd have Tibo as far better than any outfield player they had

Conte exploited their formation and in doing so exploited Naingollan.  Can't see why you would want to sign a player who you've just made look like an idiot for 90 minutes.  He ran around no-mans-land for the majority of that game.

Reminds me of when we played Atletico a few years back, we were closing down Koke specifically and so rapidly that he had very little influence on the game.  Then in the off season there were reports of us wanting to sign him, after we'd just shown everyone his weakness.

Can't base signing or not signing a player on a single game. That's ridiculous.

By all accounts he's had a very good season.

KDB had an absolute stinker last night but I'm sure we wouldn't turn our nose up if he was available to come back.

Could it be that the same coach who managed to exploit his weaknesses could also manage to play to his strengths?

You are right, and it will be interesting to see him play more to see if he is the player we think he is. I can't say I've seen him play this season or any other season, but last night he was sh*t.

I don't want to sign KDB back (and neither Lukaku). Last night he was cr*p and he hasn't been a determinant player for ManCity this season. But this is just my opinion. I know others think very highly of him, I just haven't seen anything to make him outstanding so far.

Cant judge the guy on one game but i do hope we dont break the bank for him. Hes meant to have a fantastic engine and i didnt see much evidence of that last night, which is he very least id expect from an 'all action midfielder' even if your team are being outplayed and out thought.

Still lets give him the benefit of the doubt. But i do have my doubts if this is a £40m player, or even close to that. We might as well go for Joe Ledley. He offers the same.

Well it may be, but I just found it interesting that Conte devised a way to win and part of that was to show Naingollan didn't really have any initiative and couldn't work out what to do when the ball was bypassing him.  They were allowed to play their style and Naingollan was left chasing a lot, he didn't really change his position to counter this either.  That may well be down to the manager, but we've already discussed players should hold some of the responsibility out there.

The lack of energy in his game last night is a worry. I thought he was an all action midfielder, but I hardly saw him break sweat.

Was going through the motions.

Agreed. Wilmots didn't look to have much idea how to deal with Italy's odd formation and strategy. Nainggolan had a tough time but his movement was significantly better than others. The whistles from the fans when he was taken off said to me they would have preferred someone else be taken off.

Fellaini, probably.  What a waste of a midfielder, did absolutely nothing yesterday.  I didn't think Nainggolan was as bad as everyone is making him out to be.  Not his best performance, but certainly not that bad.

This. He wasnt woeful as some claim, compared to De bruyne or Fellani who played as no 10. The Belgian coach is so tactically inept it's borderline ridiculous.

He was woeful. I've been an advocate for his signing all summer but no excuses. He was diabolical. Erratic passing, always out of position and just running around clueless. Sounds like Ramires.

Yeah he definitely wasn't the worst player on the park, I wouldn't hold one game against him.

If that was the case we'd have sold the whole squad last year!

I think I saw glimpses of a good player in there, he had a few shots from range, one which really tested Buffon.

The price worries me though, but I'll trust Conte if he decides he's worth it.

His neck tattoo is a bit OTT.

Looks like one of his mates drew on him after a drunk party.

The dodgy haircut, the full throat tattoo, the eyebrow stripes. I would hazard a wild guess and say he spends a lot of time looking at himself in the mirror.

In summary he looked like a c**t and played like one.

Denilo is better.

Looks like hes beeing shown the bench today together with Fellaini, based on their last performance that was hardly a shock. Will bevery disappointed if this is who we sign ti strengthen our midfield

I think he's a decent player, but 30 million plus for Radja is bloody ridiculous.

Totally agree. We need some midfield power no doubt but we could get a similar player that offers the same for less than half the price elsewhere i'm sure.
