Surely he will... but it'll be more difficult than it has ever been for him. Too many challengers, I'm not sure he can pull it off. It is going to be a long season full of mind games and dreary performances though.

September 2, 20178 yr Reading Diego Torres's book about his time at Madrid. Apparently there were 3 'black sheep' that he blamed for the discord between he and the players. Sounds very familiar Edited September 2, 20178 yr by TheChelseaBlues

The last three Premier League champions — Chelsea with Mourinho, Leicester with [Claudio] Ranieri, Chelsea with [Antonio] Conte — which of these teams was the most offensive one?” he said. “Which played more quality football? It was mine. But nobody says.” Mourinho seems to think his Chelsea team (14-15) were more entertaining than Antonio's (16-17).Not one to be biased but surely anyone can see Antonio's was much more entertaining to watch. Jose was entertaining for about 3 months until he went super defensive as usual.
September 6, 20178 yr I prefer Conte's football. We are defensive but keep looking for goals. I love the vertical attack that we have. Under Jose, as much as I loved him, I hated shutting shoy after 1 goal

Jose was entertaining for about 3 months until he went super defensive as usual. The first half of the 14/15 season we were sublime and played some great football. But after Spurs beat us in the New Year Jose shut up shop and looked to get games won at all costs. 16/17 with Conte, that 13 game winning streak we was as good as I have ever seen us. Top quality performances after February were a bit harder to come by but we still got the job done. On balance, there's probably not a lot in it in truth but I'll go Conte because Jose's not here any more...
September 6, 20178 yr His football during his second stint was pretty dire. The 14/15 Chelsea side were probably true most boring premier league champions ever.

Jose was a great manager for us no doubt but his football was never the most exciting.

Jose was suckerpunched by the Spuds so bad he was traumatized by it.

Not because of brilliant attacking team play but due to a few individuals turning it on and playing on the same wavelength. Making a team offensively greater than the sum of its parts is something Jose has never done and can never do. He still cannot do it with United. Hey go forward at pace (at times) but ultimately still depend on individual brilliance. I know I'd rather watch a Conte team where the team plays as one.
September 10, 20178 yr Which is always why his teams ultimately revert to being completely unimaginative eventually... the few players who run the show offensively (rather than technical coaching running the show) go through a tired/unimaginative/fearful phase.

September 10, 20178 yr I see he's yapping on about Chelsea again. He's already at the 'greatest club in the world with the greatest fans' according to him yet still finds time to talk about little old Chelsea. It's also quite amusing how Conte completely ignores him and never takes his baits.
September 10, 20178 yr It's refreshing that Conte does not take the bait, Utd were poor defensively yesterday against Stoke and not quite dominant enough to get the win and for me that was their first 'tough' opponent. Perhaps he is trying to deflect criticism by talking about us instead. Edited September 10, 20178 yr by strider6004

That's the main reason he can't do long term, there's only so long even the best player's can survive on basic attacking training.
September 10, 20178 yr He used to be funny and entertaining, a bad loser, but a born winner. Now he's just a predictable, boring man and a caricature of himself, I'm losing respect for him on a regular basis.

September 10, 20178 yr Contes presser should be a real retort back at him, start questioning his playing credentials, and his attritional style of play, because he is quickly becoming a tiresome irksome manl, who is a bad bad loser..
