February 18, 20206 yr I dub the Sir Michy Batsyoko, the most incompetent of strikers and making Sir Frank look like a fool every time he uses you ahead of Giroud, Broja, Alonso, the Tea Lady etc.

February 18, 20206 yr @bisright1: Hakim hasn't strengthened anything as of yet. Which was the whole point of my rant. After yesterdays front three performance I doubt there are many players that wouldn't strengthen us at the moment. But we didn't sign any. I'm not saying we should sack Tammy, but imagine Haaland coming to us this winter and playing instead of him or Bats and scoring. Would you really bench him afterwards and use him as an understudy to Tammy? I wouldn't. According to Haaland himself he went to Dortmund because they have a good team with players that can play through balls. If that was his main reason I think we would've qualified as well. Whatever his exact reasons I'm amazed that we didn't even try to get him. Nevermind, now I want two Dortmund players. Well I think Alcacer is an improvement to Tammy (and especially to Bats), Carasco is a brilliant winger and Olmo is similar to Ziyech, only right footed and with much higher potential. My suggestions are based on a list I googled about attacking players that transfered this winter, it's not like I looked into it for hours. My problem is that we didn't get ANY player. Werner was simply not available this window because Leipzig (they bought Olmo) is fighting for the Bundesliga and he's their main attacker, same as Sancho is important for Dortmund. And if we don't qualify for the CL he won't be next season either.
February 18, 20206 yr Haaland scores for Dortmund against PSG. But there were no good strikers available in January. 22m euros.

It's all setup, he was never moving direct to a top paying club directly for £20m. Watching his goals tonight and he is an extraordinary talent, an absolute machine. Reminds me of the proper Ronaldo. It’s a club out of touch with reality, without a sporting project. I wouldn’t take anyone there. They would even ruin Maradona, Pele and Maldini.” Maybe it had something to do with that as well?
February 18, 20206 yr Yep, he's now creating moves for players to maximise financials, it's gonna happen more and more.
February 18, 20206 yr At least the mid level teams will benefit from it. There’s a positive spin on everything, despite poison like agents.

But, but, but we want him - Why didn't our sh*t board just buy him and force him and his agent and his mum to come to us??? Waaah, waaah, waaah!
February 19, 20206 yr Haaland going to Dortmund makes a lot of sense, really good for his potential and his value will be ridiculous in a year or two. I can well believe that, Dortmund has a great reputation for building talent.
February 19, 20206 yr One of the worst strikers to have ever worn a chelsea shirt. He pops up with the occassional goal, and not too awful coming on as s impact sub. But when he starts games, he is just terrible
February 21, 20206 yr Well he can’t argue he’s not been given a chance to make it at the top level. This was his season, and he’s fallen way short. Move him on
February 21, 20206 yr This thread is titled "Michi Batshuayi to Chelsea" so lets get back on track here chaps. I would rather be reading Michi Batshuayi LEAVES Chelsea. I honestly do not normally slag our players off, with one or two exceptions ( Bakayoko, Drinkwater) but signing Batshuayi was a disaster akin to Southampton signing George Weah's cousin Ali Dia (think it was him) after he convinced Souness that he was the real mcoy !! I am certain that Michi must have pulled a similar stunt, because the guy is f**king hopeless. I have played a reasonable level of Saturday and Sunday football and have played with many strikers that had better feet, more balance, skill, pace, control, heading ability and goals records. Not one of them has become a Pro, but EVERY one of them is better than this imposter.
February 21, 20206 yr I would like to state again that Demba Ba was available to bring back on a free at the beginning of the season. The one person with the best experience of derailing a Liverpool title bid and we failed to capitalise!

Ba was a great striker also, whenever he started he scored, if you look at his goal conversion per minutes it's actually really good, his goal to game ratio looks poor because Mourinho would bring him on every game for 2 minutes to kill the game. Remy was also a good backup striker who would bang the goals in. I thought it was the case with Michy but evidently not, he has been atrocious this season.

The Palace fans at work hated us for loaning him out, he barely played and cost a fortune
February 22, 20206 yr To play the lone striker role to a consistently top level is incredibly difficult. It involves so much. Hold up play, touch, strength, movement, finishing, having aerial ability etc. It may be 20 years plus before we find another Drogba. I have said before Bats is a forward that will never work as a lone striker. But as part of a front two? Who knows? It is something I hoped Frank might be more willing to try when we are chasing a result.

To be fair, he did turn into Drogba for about 7 seconds against Man Utd in the league cup.
