October 24, 20196 yr we saw the worst and best of Bats in his cameo... struggled to lay off a pass 10 meters to the left.. got in a great position to almost put us ahead.. great instinct then to get a goal.. is he the new OGS?
October 24, 20196 yr Glad for him to get a goal. Showed the two sides of the coin again though. Reason why he'll never be a real starting option
October 24, 20196 yr Think Bats is a real decent option and does have the knack of scoring crunch goals. Okay, he misses some sitters but I like his attitude and wouldn't want to see him go anywhere else. Can see him making more contributions as the season unfolds.
October 31, 20196 yr He's an awful footballer. Really f**king bad. Will get you a goal though, no doubt about that. Sadly for him, goals aren't enough, especially in the modern game, you've got to do so much more when you're playing up top on your own. Giroud is an infinitely better player. Everything about Batshuayi is erratic. If you need a goal he's a great guy to bring off the bench but that's about it. If he wants starts he needs to join a club with lower aspirations.

Yeah what he said. Super sub role or Crystal Palace, make your mind up Michy.

When the rest of the attack is just flat out underperforming Batman finds a way to score, he's the plan B that we really need. Batman is a really important player for us, without him we wouldn't have won Ajax away, and we saved our faces here.
November 1, 20196 yr I think its more of a systematic thing with Batshuayi, I dont think he is most effective in the 4-3-3 system as his hold up and link up play is average so therefore it was no surprise with a midfield of Kova, Jorg & Billy he performed well below par. I think in a 2 striker system or with Mount as a Number 10 he would perform a lot better as he would have that support around him to make those runs in behind and with an additional body it would give him more space to find those gaps in the final third. With the midfield we played on Wednesday he just kept getting isolated up against Maguire and Lindelof so I wouldnt criticise him too much as I dont think its a role that suits him too much yet he still managed to get us a goal.

Agree with this. He looks better when the midfield support is closer to him. That midfield three the other day was just too defensive. Edited November 1, 20196 yr by GhostOfDembaBa

November 1, 20196 yr I know it sounds daft, but I thought he had an awful game besides that amazing goal. He's very good at running on to the ball, a very handy squad player. I hope we keep him around.
November 2, 20196 yr Goal was very good, but otherwise was poor, yes. He just can't be a lone striker, he can't hold the ball and his link-up play always gives the ball back to the opposition. If he's going to do anything in this squad, he needs another striker up there with him really. I was surprised Lampard took him off for Tammy, instead of having them both on.
November 2, 20196 yr Scored a good goal Wednesday, but I thought he was poor, useful as a third or fourth striker, but let's be honest not many prem teams if any would have him as main striker, his instinct will get him the odd goal, but I feel if he has to think about the game and bring teammates into play he's a lost cause.

Without his individual performance we could have had another striker linking play and creating chances, you can't say we wouldn't have scored. Had Tammy been on he could have occupied the CB's and setup 2 or 3 goals for the wingers.

Could have, would have doesn't make an argument lol
