Clubs like Norwich and West Brom who just continuously get promoted and demoted every year are just really boring nothing clubs. Needs teams like Leeds, Millwall and Nottingham forest in the prem at the expense of the Brightons and West Broms I agree but Millwall? Might be rivalry because of their notorious supporters by they are sh*t club and don't belong in the PL!!

They don't belong anywhere near the PL, but the sheer hostility in london derbies would be pure entertainment! Maybe thats a foregone era but its reminiscent of the leeds rivalry from way back when

Laughed when Leeds went down all those years ago, because as a youngster in 70’s and 80’s they were enemy no 1 for me and all my family, but as years gone by realised as a match going fan we do need the big teams in prem, wake up on a match day and your off to bridge, Bournemouth/Wigan/Burnley at home or Leeds at home

Agree Nibs, Millwall are a sh*t small club, but Millwall home or way, beats playing some of the sh*t we’ve had in prem in last few years, I might hark back to an old era, but the sense of excitement and trepidation on a match day playing Leeds/Millwall? ‘If Carlsberg made match days!!‘

No matter what when it comes to a derby the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace even Watford do tend to step up.. even this season west ham couldn’t buy a point and showed and won against us.. it’s frustrating as hell.. for a while when qpr was in the role.. they would nick a point off us..

I don't really buy this tbh. Palace and WHU make it difficult for the Manc clubs (apart from City in West Ham's case) and Liverpool aswell, they're just awkward to play against in general.

The day that QPR cease to exist will be a good day, indeed. The very definition of a cruddy, two-bit club. A veritable skidmark on the buttock of English football, and indeed football worldwide. Probably on Mars, too.

September 8, 20205 yr Heading on loan to Palace. Shame we can't sell him but at least he'll be off the wage bill and we should get a small loan-fee.
September 8, 20205 yr From signing for Chelsea to loans to Durtmund and Valencia to consecutive loans to permanently relegation threatened Crystal Palace. Says a lot for how far his stock has fallen. We were once asking £40m as an asking price, I'd be surprised if anyone offered even half that amount for him now.

Think the pandemic played a huge part in that. What bothers me is he has apparently signed a new contract, bumping his wages up to £100k/w from £75k/w. We have done this to prevent him going for free as the old contract expires next summer. Can’t understand the thinking on both sides.

We're not likely to make many permanent sales this summer because no one wants to spend. We're not desperate for money because of the Hazard and Morata sales so we're in a position where we can afford to sit tight for 12 months and see if the market improves should Covid settle down etc. More likely to get offered something half decent for Michy next year when presumably he's played most of a season with regular football (first time he's down that for a full season since signing for us).
September 8, 20205 yr He was actually very good today, two well taken goals for Belgium.. Hes a proper goalscorer, even last year before christmas, he seemed to score most games he played. I think we should be able to get decent m9ney next year with a good loan spell

Can't underestimate the effect of performing in an international tournament though, it has given players a lot of interest in the past. eg. James Rodriguez
September 9, 20205 yr He will always be a decent goalscorer, but thats all he'll be I think. Really wanted him off the books permanently, but it just looks like another pointless loan...
September 9, 20205 yr I'm surprised a club like Newcastle haven't come in for him over a player like Wilson. Bats is still only 26 and has plenty to give, and he may even improve and perform better with our new players. We will be far more creative compared to the previous seasons.

Will he be our best striker, for sure not. But he is a good finisher. He will surely make his goals for Crystal Palace if they believe in him. After all, he scored 18 goals already for Belgium in 30 games and almost all of them as a sub.

And he's actually the second highest scorer we have left in our squad ... only Giroud has scored more Chelsea goals than Batsman ... and just three more to be precise ! It does highlight just how much of a rebuild we are currently undergoing.

People sometimes forget that we can earn money from loan moves. They aren't us just letting a player go for free and not paying his wages.
