Kalidou Koulibaly

Featured Replies

Rather we blew the £60m on Rodriguez and have the left back position sorted out for the next 5yrs than blow it on a guy who has had one good season. Koulibaly's passing stats that stands out is a funny one, Albiol his defence partner has similar passing stats. Makes you wonder if it's a case of defenders having more time on the ball due to the slow pace of the league.

We'll get totally reemed by PSG if we go after Marquinhos! £75mil easy

You think PSG overpaid for David Luiz? They get that money back plus more

Another way to look at it... Luiz plus £25m for Marquinhos is a bargain!

He has looked suspect for the two goals so far. caught out of position for the first. And the second goal he was wondering around in midfield leaving the other defenders exposed.

CHELSEA STILL KEEN ON KOULIBALY

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly remains of interest to Chelsea, according to Sky sources.

The Italian club are reluctant sellers, though, and coach Maurizio Sarri has implied the player is staying.

Interestingly, Koulibaly has still to reach an agreement on a new contract.

I haven't seen much of Koulibaly, i seen him a few times last season and didn't really take notice of him but watched him properly today and if today is anything to go by then i'm not seeing what is so great about him. He just seem's like another Mangala to me, one of those players that got a reputation for being able to play with the ball rather than getting a reputation for defending well. The priority of a defender should be to be good at defending first.

Hahaha.... Hilarious. Oh well. Better now than on deadline day. Come on board, splash 35 million on Virgil Van Dijk. Prem experience. Only 25. Good on the ball. Or Aymen Abdennour who seems like he's available on the cheap from Valencia. Or make a bid for Kone. Someone, anyone half decent.

And buy a full back unless you want a repeat of last season.

wouldn't take the report seriously, it's coming from l'equipe journo when koulibaly doesn't play in france and is not french

either way we should just go to maksimovic, get the deal done fast, this saga has gone too long to actually end up happening, clock's ticking

Why are we still going about this guy?

Don't see it happen and I would be happy if we just went for maksimovic and next year rotate between Happy Kurt and Christensen until both would be with enough experience to start regularly.

Not really, they just dont want to sell us their best players. Like Everton dont. Like we dont.

We dont have a divine right to pick and choose who we want from other clubs and expect these clubs to roll over for us.

Considering the fact Cavani was sold to PSG the year after (and at the time I don't think they had anything else to offer besides huge paychecks) I reckon they just want to get every penny they can.

Do you think our club would snub a 40-50 million pounds deal for Zouma this summer if he wasn't injured?

Chelsea have told Napoli that they have made their final offer for central defender Kalidou Koulibaly and are now actively pursuing alternatives in case the Italian club refuse to let him go.

That could open the door for a £25million Chelsea bid for Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic, who is also wanted by Napoli and last week went on strike to try to force through a move.

The last offer is understood to have been around £40m and Chelsea have informed Napoli that they are unwilling to significantly increase that bid ahead of the closure of the transfer window next Wednesday.

With time running out and Conte determined to sign a new defender, Chelsea are now working through their list of alternatives while they wait to find out whether or not Napoli will relent.

Napoli want Koulibaly to sign a new contract with the club, but it is understood the player would prefer to move to Stamford Bridge this month.

It also remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea’s interest in Maksimovic changes Napoli’s thinking.

Nope. We would try and get as much money as we could for him too. Like we would with any player. Like any club does with any of their players.

It's the same anywhere, no good moaning about another club not selling us their best players if we are trying to get them at less than market rate.

"Let's get the latest on a Chelsea target, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Our Sky colleagues in Italy tell us the defender has not yet signed a new contract but that Napoli do want to keep him - and that there's a "90 per cent chance" he's going to stay.

We understand, though, that if Napoli can sign Torino's Nikola Maksimovic, they may consider selling Koulibaly. One chain reaction to watch out for; we'll keep you posted..."

I've said it before and I'll say it again...don't ever trust De Laurentiis...just because he gets Maksimovic doesn't mean for one minute he'll sell Koulibay...what's more likely he'll raise his price even more...just buy Gimemez's buy out clause and get on with it...a quality, young defender learning his trade in a good defending club
