That would seem to lack ambition in my eyes but it could be an indicator I guess. Yeah agreed if that is the case then I will be very disappointed. Aim for the title and if you don't get it but get Top 4 then at least it's good for business I suppose.
August 30, 20169 yr Is this us trying to get our wage bill down for the lack of CL football this season? I mean why else would we be shipping out all of our back up players leaving us threadbare? It would be interesting to see a comparison on wages and player numbers compared to last season.

Give the yoof a path to the first team perhaps?

I was thinking perhaps Mason Mount, Tomori, Dujon Sterling, and Trevor Chalobah... maybe the club feel they're ready/or want to accelerate their development - a new approach for the next generation perhaps? August 30, 20169 yr We haven't loaned out Aina. We'd be mad to with our current dearth of full-backs!

Hmm I'd have thought the ones we have loaned out were much closer and prepared to play first team football for us than the likes of the above. I'd like to have seen the likes of Ake be given a chance given we are in desperate need for numbers instead of another loan...we had nothing to lose. Traore would get decent game time now we only have 2 strikers and one will miss a few games you would imagine with suspensions and injuries. I don't see how the Dutch loan would benefit him more than a fair amount of games with us this season. It just doesn't add up for me, we seem to be shipping players out at an alarming rate whilst not replacing those numbers.
August 30, 20169 yr I don't get it either, we look very short up front with Remy and Traore gone. The Club must reckon it's doable with 2 strikers for a full season. As for the defence...anyone know how far Zouma is from a return?
August 30, 20169 yr With Remy and other gone I can only assume that there is a Master plan...........................anyone seen the plans lying around? Anyone?..... Anyone? OK, no plans then......back to the drawing board...WTF is going on in that Board Room...or is it the washroom.....still all will be revealed by the deadline.
August 30, 20169 yr Remy wasnt going to play regardless, might as well sell him. Not sure why everyone is up in arms
August 30, 20169 yr pedro or even hazard can play as striker i guess if worse comes to worse. haven't we kept solanke though?
August 30, 20169 yr Another bloody loan, why do we let every other club in the world take us for a ride? Wouldn't be surprised if we're still paying a big portion of his wages.
August 30, 20169 yr I did like Remy, but he was unlucky with injuries and had trouble really making his mark. He did score some crucial goals off the bench in 2014-15 though.

September 1, 20169 yr Costa, Batshuayi, Solanke, RLC, Pedro, Hazard, Moses, Oscar. Conte's order of strikers?
September 1, 20169 yr We are taking a risk with the strikers here, last time we had 2 senior strikers ( Torres & Sturridge), we lost the manager and got knocked up of CL by November. I agree with most views here, what a wast of loan move that is. I wonder if this is a cheat by the clubs to get by the FFP
September 8, 20169 yr Injured for two months with a thigh injury before he's even kicked a ball for Palace. Basically that's why we were happy to let him go, can't be relied upon to be fit when needed.

At his best, he offers a lot, he knows to score goals.

You get attached to things when you spend enough time in their company. Edited September 8, 20169 yr by MissouriBlue

Never been a massive fan of his personally. Decent scoring record but much like Demba Ba before him offered little to nothing else to the team. Gets caught offside far too often which just turns over possession to the opposition. That's not to say he's a bad player but I've always felt we could do better and early signs are that Michy is an upgrade for us.
September 8, 20169 yr Injured already? I was just going to say that an in form Benteke and a fit Remy would be a pretty good strike force for Palace...
September 8, 20169 yr Injured again? What a master stroke to send him on loan No surprise really, he was never there when we needed him last couple of seasons. He's a big like Sturridge in therms of injury, could get a hamstring injury just walking the dog.
