Chelsea Vs Liverpool(PL) Fri 16/09/ 2016 KO 20:00 GMT

Both teams are evenly matched.  Both defences a bit wobbly but ours looking slightly worse than theirs so far; so it will come down to who can take their chances at the sharp end.  They certainly have pace and movement so we need to cut out the supply, Oscar, Matic and Kante need to be on their game.  I would like to see Cesc in the side, he is  a creator but I think this is going to be a game of pressing high and tackling / chasing back so Conte will have little option to play Matic.   I have us winning 3-2...but it could go either way.   Sideshow Bob to get the winner!

The next 2 games will define our season. 6 points and we will be serious contenders.

Liverpool are looking good against the top teams, and its going to be difficupt to stop them scoring, hopefully we do more damage than them though.

I hope we can dominate possesion, but i think we will struggle to that without fabregas in the side.

I can see it being a high scoring game, hoping we come away with a 3-1 win.

Why do you think that?

They've conceded 7 goals compared to our 4.

I think we've defended better as a team, good possession has helped this as has the acquisition of Kante. Once the midfield shield has been breached, the defence looks creaky. So far we have only conceded seven shots on target, this though has yielded four goals, the worst percentage in the division.

Big test tonight,if we can keep a clean sheet we will win. It remains to see how Cahill will be affected by last week,I'm pretty sure he will be the target of the high press.

Cahill had a good game except holding the ball too long for the goal, he was fouled, feels hard done by, he will be determined for retribution and up for this not put off or nervous at all I would think. People are worried I'm not, we will dominate Liverpool in midfield and I defiantly see us scoring, the key is in our defence but should sweep up in midfield I would hope,  but honestly I just don't see them beating a conte Chelsea at the bridge, not going to happen, for me a bad day would be a draw, I'm expecting 3 points here, why are these dippers being given so much credit. Our bench is better than their starting 11, hazard should switch to the right to terrorize Moreno, we are worried about Ivan and their wingers? They have far more to be worried about than us, I hope we show them no respect and go out and dominate, burnley beat them and couldn't even touch the ball at the bridge...

Time to make a statement. At home against a decent Liverpool side.

I've been optimistic so far in the attitude and work rate of the players. The gaffer's influence is clear to see so far, however.....

I fail to follow the pundits and hype regarding Chelsea's "excellent" performances and claims of being title challengers!

We need to start playing expansive football because considering the wealth of talent in the team, on the ball we are still way off the mark. In this aspect Liverpool are ahead of us in my opinion. We have the fighting spirit back and players that are capable of changing the game in a moment, yet collectively going forward as a team we seem to be a bit stagnant, hesistant and lost for ideas. Hopefully this will happen gradually, desperate to see identity, style and a way of playing football back at the club. Praisng the work rate and odd moment of brilliance in a player will only suffice for so long. The abcense of Fabregas doesn't help this case yet Oscar has statistically made more key passes and tackles so far per game then in his previous seasons at the club. So whos to argue? Would like to see Oscar and Fab infront of Kante yet doubt Conte will opt for this due the physical precense of Matic. We need to feed the govenor!

Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2

On my way down for the match and having to negotiate train chaos on trains into Euston. So emergency late National Express coach booking made instead. Hope it works out!

I don't think I've wanted to beat Liverpool more.

I hate that smug git Klopp and I want to see Costa tear their players limb from limb.

This'll be the toughest game for Conte so far. Liverpool are quick to the press and they score quite a lot of goals, although their defence is pretty shaky.

I think it'll be a draw 1-1.

Also, only one of those four goals came from a defensive error (Tibo), the others were from two referee mistakes and a cracking strike at Watford.

Im glad you're optimistic and think we need to make a statement by conceding 2 and drawing at home, I can only imagine if you were a pessimist.

Excited for tonight's game - i just have a feeling that we will!  I see a 2-1 result for us.  Hazard to score!

Kante and Osca to have a brilliant game and Luiz to keep Coutinho and Friminho in his back pocket!

Come on boys!!  Lets beat these scousers!!

"Optimistic so far in the attitude and work rate of the players". Of course I'm hoping for a Chelsea win but that would be a realistic prediction based on how these 2 teams are performing so far.

Come on.. picking at comments on a Friday afternoon..

Relax my friend, make a cup of tea.

It was light hearted I don't put venom in much let alone on a forum, I'm a Chelsea supporter not a dipper.

I hate Pool but have had no problems with Klopp so far. He stays in his own world, respects his opponents and generally reflects on the game reasonably. He isn't the best coach but is much better than average.

Must admit if Liverpool play like they did against us in preseason or at the Bridge last season I can see them taking all 3 points. Can't see us winning and will take a draw, a win and i'll start to believe we can make top 4.
