Tiémoué Bakayoko

Yeah he played well against a mid table championship side, can people get a grip! Also his lack of energy led to the chance where Norwich hit the post.

people are looking for the smallest things to big him up.

I praised Baka in the match thread because he finally looked a bit comfortable, but that's what he should stick to at the moment, in no way does he still deserve another PL start.

He definitely plays better in a 2 man midfield than a 3 man midfield no question about it. But I would go with Drinkwater in the PL games from here on out even though Drinkwater was pretty bad yesterday.

Why do so many write Michy off but not Baka?

f**k knows, Shearer said it all when he said Batman has 0% confidence. Batman is playing awful but the circumstances around the last 18months can't be disregarded. Baka has everything going for him like first choice started and having the manager's backing, still been sh*t.

On paper Batshuayi record is impressive and actually better than Morata's, he definitely needs more work to improve his game. His hold up play is dreadful but he's not going to improve when he's relegated to the least important games, when does Batman ever get a whiff of first team action? Twice-three times a season if he's lucky, that's not going to develop him, he's not 18/19 he's 24, if he's not in Conte's plans at all then why wasn't he sold to begin with.

I don't have a lot of patience with Bakayoko I'll be honest, I don't have a high personal opinion of his playing style I never have and watching him prove me right doesn't do me any favours. That said I could still be proven wrong which I would very much like and I'm all for giving Bakayoko his chance despite my opinion of him, but why are so many who are so supportive of Bakayoko so dismissive when it comes to Michy? Michy has never even been given a chance, and he still scores quite a lot of goals for someone who rarely plays football.

I'm not a fan of compilation videos but that one of Bakayoko posted earlier really is painfull to watch and I can almost feel sorry for him. Whoever it was who agreed the £40m fee should be shown the door. I blame them far more than the player.

It reminded me so much of my thankfully long past days when I thought I could play football. I was useless, but would always put myself forward for school teams then later in life work teams and  sunday league and pub teams.

Through all those years I only ever got a game if the team I was hoping to play for were short, and desperate to field 11 players.

I didn't have a clue, was just making up the numbers but at least I ran around a lot and put some effort in, not something I see in the lazy looking Baka to be honest.

I don't write off either. The only reason I can think of is that Michy has been around a lot longer than Bakayoko.

Michy hasn't even got half the opportunities or quarter of the managers backing Baka has had.

Poor lad.

Pretty surprised today by his performance. Decent again, don't know if it's because he's playing in a 2 again or because Barkley is breathing down his neck now.

Good performance from him today. His shot was good. Broke the play really well. Circulated the ball well, and most importantly did not lose it as much.

Seeing a trend that he plays "MUCH" better in a 2 man mid than a 3 man mid. Probably understands his role much better in it. Also does not need to be more attackingly involved as he has to be in a 3 man mid. I would love to see his average position in a 2-man and 3-man mid as well as the place where he loses the ball most. I would expect it would be in attacking situations and higher up the pitch where he gets pressured more.

Anyways, he needs to improve a lot still, but in bits and pieces I like a lot of things from Baka.

we can't forget he played a full 120 mins midweek too. i think he tapered off a bit as the game went on, probably because of tiredness. he did alright today, not spectacular performance by any means, but not poor. i would give him maybe 7/10.

A much better performance. Still improvements to be made though.

Agree with a lot of the comments above - could have been down to a couple of reasons:

- Suited better to a 2 man midfield?

- Not playing at home (our fans are definitely on his back which has no doubt affected his confidence playing at the Bridge / groaning and booing etc...)

Pathetic isn't it, I only accepted this abuse when it was Rafa Benitez, any other Blue was gladly accepted here even Cesc Fabregas who I despised at Arsenal.

For some reason the standards for this guy are really really base levels low. Mikel 2.0

This is a point I made about 20 pages ago, don't let this be another Mikel charade.. "But...But.. the CL final performance"

Praise him when he does well but let's not overdo it, I thought he was solid today, not the best performance by any means but I'm glad to see 2 solid consecutive games from him regardless. He's definitely much better suited in a two-man midfield.

I've more than a suspicion that his beard and what it may signify has an influence on how he is seen by some people.

See this a lot more from foreign fans for some reason.

No need for the stereotyping.

Idiots are idiots and they are everywhere.

You know one or more, I do too.
