January 5, 20179 yr When I was a kid, whenever my team lost a game I desperately wanted to win. I'd boot up a computer game of that sport and brutally destroy the team that just beat mine (on easy mode), to take out the frustrations. Now that I'm an adult, I don't think I'm any more mature as I'm thinking of booting football manager and giving all the Tottenham playersyear-long injuries. How do you cope with a frustrating result? Is there a responsible way to abuse the opposition team or should I grow up already? ;)
January 5, 20179 yr Just take it on the chin and move on. It's hard I know but at least we are still top. A win next weekend and this will be forgotten.
January 5, 20179 yr We're 5 points clear at the top of the table with the chance of extending our lead in our next 2 games, as a few of our rivals have some tough games coming up, so it's hard for me to be really upset right now.
January 5, 20179 yr Losing to whoever we hate doesn't bother me as much as I enjoy beating them, I'll just look forward to our next meeting. If we had a ridiculous losing/non winning record that they have/had against us though, I don't know if I can be so calm!
January 5, 20179 yr I hate losing when I don't think we deserved to, doesn't apply to last night though. 5 points clear though and United play the Dippers next...reasons to be cheerful. Edited January 5, 20179 yr by Blue Exile
January 5, 20179 yr as a half jew thankfully i don't need to create some sort of anti semitic scenario did by the opposition fans to make me feel better about a lost
January 5, 20179 yr No problem for me I think when I was a kid and we were we're almost relegated to the old division 3 and we had a crowd of about 3,000 for a midweek match, the stadium was crumbling and we could only wish to play Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal if we were lucky enough in a cup draw. Now we are the most successful London team and we are fast catching up with Man Utd and Liverpool "history" and I think life is not so bad at the moment. Add to that, I am convinced we took our foot off the gas, I am sure we were told not to get into to much of the occasion and pick up cards and suspensions for the sake of a record for the longer term good of the season i am disappointed don't get me wrong, but virtually over it already
January 5, 20179 yr It's only football It's only football It's only football No seriously, it's really only football. Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed, but I've got more important things on my mind to worry about which directly effect my life. Edited January 5, 20179 yr by Valerie
January 5, 20179 yr Lets worry IF we are knocked off the top spot, then should we sorry, or feel bad. We are in a privileged position.
January 5, 20179 yr This always cheers me up. (I was sitting in the Tottenham members enclosure - think I was the only one left at the end!)
January 5, 20179 yr I used to get quite angry and have do something like go for a run to calm down, but nowadays I just forget about it and play some Overwatch or something.
January 5, 20179 yr Last night didn't bother me as such because we're top of the table by 5 points however the manner of our defeat was disappointing. Spurs treated that as a cup final last night, atmosphere was rocking and so were their players. We looked a bit lacklustre at times, almost as if the game didn't matter to the players which was bizarre. Good little stat for everyone though, last two times Spurs have beaten us at the lane, we've gone on to win the league. Shame they couldn't do that last season when we ruined their title dreams.

And the other bold statement, what's your point?
January 6, 20179 yr I actually like coming to football forums so that I can share my pain and feel positive about the future.

Now i go hang out with my daughter, still get very upset by loosing but there is a constant reminder of things more important in life
January 9, 20179 yr I used to get pissed off but now I just remember the crazy money that the players on and think to myself f**k it I'm not getting pissed off over them. Avoiding football and sky sports news help also.
