Sandro and Hazard would cause utter destruction on the left hand side

 

Seriously have no idea why some people are against this, he's one of the best wing backs in football, is only 26 and is a truly world class player. Who gives a damn if he cost's 60 million, we can easily afford that

If juve publicly said the offer was acceptable subject to the players wishes they won't change on that. He will make more money at Cfc and we are acceptable enough as far as reputation and quality, so I think he'll be here.

As far as money goes I think wingback is as important as any position on the field. Needs very specialized and talented players.

Bit of an off the topic question but were you extremely excited for Torres when he signed? I felt like this about him and my God were my dreams crushed over the following few seasons. That signing turned me a little more cautious about new players for sure.

Why are fans so obsessed with how much players cost?! 

Is it coming out of your back pocket? No.

Will it financially affect you in ANY way? No.

Who cares how much someone costs?! If the manager has identified a player as someone who will improve the side, especially if that side is currently a domestic champion, who cares!

Some fans being critical of the fee being touted as if it's coming out of their own pockets, indications suggests he is a Conte's target & if paying 60m to show the Manager that we are doing all we can to follow his vision it's good enough for me regardless of players quality.

Not really. I just dont think Conte wud sanction the transfer for that price. I beleive this is just a rumor made up by the media. I am sure we bid for him and got rejected but bidding 60 million. I doubt it. Wow, there was me thinking all you could do is say 'Kiddo'. All joking aside, what a well thought-out, interesting and intelligent post. Not saying I agree, because I think we will land Sandro. I also believe the press conference you were referring to was Conte possibly gesturing, keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of knowing who would be willing to come join us in SW6. In my humble opinion is seems somewhat of an expert of knowing when to be earnest and when to get into mind games/spin.

Anything below 60m and we don't land him, we are in a market where 50m gets you Sterling and Stones. I don't believe Conte is naive to not be willing to pay 60m for one of his prime targets, the only question mark left on Conte's CV is whether he is able to compete in the Champions League & I don't believe he is going to leave any stone unturned regardless of what he has said in the past.

100%, I think what he said was smoke and mirrors. He is a winner and knows that even if squad players have their place on the path through a season, you still need some world class players in the mix. At 60 mil he would be a snip according to many many people, like I keep saying think of it in context to selling Oscar for a similar amount.

The fact that it's a specialist position makes it that much more important. Or are you not listening to yourself? Spend 60m everywhere else and you're find with it but spend 60m on perhaps the most important position in our team based on our formation and you're throwing a fit? Football fans do my head in.

Our right back playing left back kept him out because dave in his natural position and a world class left back inferior to an aging CB playing RB

Can you please use proper words? It doesn't take that much longer to type 'you' or 'your' or 'because'. Nothing personal, I just hate seeing text speak, feels like reading something written by a 13 year old.

Not my pocket and I'd be happy with Sandro but I care about the price. We dont have an unlimited transfer budget so I understand the worry about blowing so much on one position (or overpaying). We still need a cover RWB CB and CF so there has to be enough left over to reinforce elsewhere.

If Alex Sandro costing 56-60m is overpaying, then the price for Lukaku is extortion yet the club is entering negotiations with that in mind.

I have more reservations about our other signings than this one.

The price is irrelevant. If Sandro improves us on left, even a little bit it is worth it. Alonso-Hazard was pretty f**king good last season.

However we should improve the right side as well.
