Confirmed Transfers - Ins and Outs

Featured Replies

Imo....Costa will be on the Outs list !........"but only when we've signed a new centre forward" .........Jamie Vardy anyone, ha,ha ....another Chris Sutton !? ......I certainly don't want our club paying Everton a penny over 40 mio for Lukaku........if we did, we would be a laughing stock.

Will be back for pre season, to get a chance to prove he can be part of the squad for next season I read.

cheers thanks ! It would be good to keep him. Aké and him in defence form an interesting alternative defence for Cup competions IMO

Dom Solanke, no longer our player, but it's a lack of class not to congratulate him on the main website, right okay. I wish these journo's would take a day off, just one day from sucking up to Liverpool and criticising us, would be a miracle, press reckon Solanke will be worth 100 million in a couple of years, he hasn't even kicked a ball in the Premier League.

I searched "Confirmed Chelsea Transfer" on Google and it said 404 not found.

It's getting boring, and disturbing.

I think it's understandable to be anxious, particularly when the Manchester clubs and Liverpool appear to be making early moves, but settling business early in a window isn't an iron clad guarantee of success.

Shevchenko and Ballack were both signed prior to the 2006 World Cup and that season didn't turn out great. Last year, Barcelona snapped up Umtiti and Digne very early in the window and looked to be ready to go by July, but they didn't exactly have an ideal season.

My theory.

Because we have the new kit deal with Nike which doesn't start until July, I don't think the club wants to announce new transfers until then.

What better way to kick off your new £60m per year kit sponsor by getting all the new signings pictured holding/wearing the new shirt so the kids (and adults) buy it and get the name and number on the back.

Never thought of that, great move if true.

I like it. Let's go with your theory, with the proviso that if we don't see photos of beaming new players flanked by Emenalo by July 3rd, we renew our complaints with vigour

We are a bit slow in the market, heavily linked with several players. I would like us to buy quality and buy wisely we don't need expensive panic buys. Think we will sign Caballero first as a reserve keeper.

To be clear, this is not what I mean:

Really?

We signed and announced Cesc/Kante pretty early during the window, and presented them later. Surely we could do that now and not wait for the contract to end?

Cesc was pictured holding the shirt the minute he was signed... Kante was too probably.

It's just a theory on my part, that's all. PR, social media etc plays a huge part in the marketing of a team now and I just think that with such a massive new kit deal it might make sense that we want to delay announcing any new players until we can get a picture of them with the new shirt.

The transfer window doesn't officially open until the new kit deal comes in any way so there isn't necessarily a rush for us to announce signings.

My guess is that Lukaku and Bakayoko are already signed and any unveiling of them now would have to be with Adidas as the main sponsor, holding an Adidas shirt.  By delaying the announcement until the 30th June they can then get everyone holding up Nike shirts, as a grand unveiling.  Cesc and Kante signings didnt have the same pressure, we had the same main sponsor and kit manufacturer before and after, in fact i think we played our last game of the previous seasons in the next seasons kit if im not wrong, this year we havent been able to do that because Adidas paid us until the 30th and the Nike deal starts on the 1 July.

As far as i can see, people are getting a little antsy because City have been spanking the cash, I truly believe we have bought the big buys already with Conte looking to assess the rest of the squad in pre season before looking at more.

Either that or Everton have decided they actually have money for once, Everton are not a club that will traditionally spend £30 mil on a GK and a further £50 Million on a midfielder and another striker (as is rumoured), my guess is they have agreed a deal for Lukaku and are using the silent period to reinvest before every club realises they just hit a £70 mil jackpot.
