So glad we didn't get punished for the West Ham loss, Arse and dippers drew twice so the gap actually widened by a point. Hope we pull our socks up and go on a winning run, we don't need any more slip ups.

excellent matchday!! the gap increased, we're on the podium... perfect!! let's hope it will increase rapidly so that it will be easier to rotate and prepare for the game against Barça!!

It turned out to be a decent few days after the shock lose to West Ham, only Spurs made up points on us, and Liverpool and Arsenal were actually 1 point worse off than us:biggrin: Why didn't anyone ask Klop and Wenger if they are still in the title race? I don't understand why Solanke left us for Liverpool, he's only getting the odd cameos as desperate last resort ( like today), or a walk in the park after the game had been won. He'd probably get that with us. He scored a good goal, but a handball was a handball, he wouldn't have controlled the ball without it.

Yes indeed, I guess like us they are struggling with two games a week and notice the relegation race is full on before xmas with better managers coming into the league that can help the lower teams get a point or better. So far only City seem impervious to giving away points yet when in the past have we old timers seen big gaps at the top only for the leaders to fall away in April or May?

IMO, that's why we need to keep the faith.

As 'bad' as Michy looks for us, Solanke would be even worse, he is extremely raw and if he was in our squad he would be our 3rd striker and continue to have 0 apps.

Wayne Rooney is starting to have a very solid season.

For a player who was starting to look finished towards the end at United he's found a good run of form with regular playing time at Everton and has at the moment managed to match the goals scored tally of big money signings Morata and Lukaku.

Agree, I said on a Utd forum I could see him getting between 10-15 goals a season at Everton. I saw him as a second striker though now thinking he looks more like an attacking midfielder. Don't think he will ever be world class now yet he  is capable of proving useful to a mid table side.

More United protection from Sky... They're playing awful yet somehow they're going to highlight the "progress" United are making.. Oh wow great I mean spending around 600 million in the past 3 years who would have thought?

He even went on to go on about how they've vastly improved from the days of Van Gaal, what sort of bull sh*t is this honestly? Give Mourinho his slack like he got at Chelsea, he's failing miserably. I actually like Gary Neville by the way and he does have a point but for the love of god.

neville has always been a jose bumlicker, even when he was with us he defended him.

Very true, he seemed like a closet Chelsea fan when Jose was here.

I can't remember him defending us like that though when we went through a bad patch, he was very silent in fact and was critical of Jose for not playing youth players. I get that he's a United fan so he's going to go into depth with his own team more than others, but what would balance this out would be if we had Chelsea pundits on Sky that were of the same profile giving an insight on Chelsea.

Instead, it's always the same, Conte has 1 loss and we'll hear about how he's going to be sacked or that he's lost the dressing room.

Neville and his mates have been giving Jose way too much credit, his predecessor won a FA Cup too, and didn't do much worse in the league this season. Sure they are improving this season, but it's only 3 months ago they were title favorite after beating up a few teams deemed for the relegation fight. Now they are 11 points behind the leader and leads us by only 3, and all the pro United pundits seems to be pretty contend or happy about it. Conte on the other hand, every lose is a step close to be sacked, only because he absolutely smashed the league last season. The idiots on ESPN were talking about what has Chelsea left to play for this season, well, they should have asked the same questions to the other 18 teams in the league.

Crazy we are still in every competition in a position most other clubs would be envious of.

Re the Pundits don't think we too badly I occasionally see Le Saux or Gullit on the box, hear Nevin on the radio commentary. Could be better yet also worse.

I wonder if Frank Lampard will go that route.
