October 7, 20214 yr Should their takeover go through Newcastles lists of top target recruits is said to be offering Toni more than PSG are, as well as pursuing Kounde and following up on their summer interest in Gilmour
October 8, 20214 yr Real hoping Toni turns down PSG and Newcastles mega money deals and joins them for the thrill of being a Real Madrid player instead. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2021/10/8/22716486/real-madrid-to-tempt-antonio-rudiger-with-status-over-money-report
October 8, 20214 yr if he leaves i hope Levi Colwill wil get a chance if he keeps on playing well for Huddersfield
October 8, 20214 yr Can I just say, and maybe it’s because I have just consumed a lot of rum, but f**k him, sign or don’t sign, no player is bigger than the club.

Looked average in a back 4 for Germany, and I feel the plaudits were getting out of hand. He is being carried by the back 3 system, no way is he a £150k/w defender.
October 9, 20214 yr Similar to Luiz, when in back 3 he looked far more comfortable, and able to contribute going forward, not so much playing in back 4. If he's keen sign for the highest bidder, fair enough and good luck to him, we shouldn't going in the bidding war for him.

Who could you get that's better than him for less than 150k? Not even mentioning transfer fees. PSG will give him over 200k easily.

He isn’t starting ahead of Kimpepe/Marquinhos. His direct competition will be his German compatriot Kehrer who they paid £33m for even if they switch to a back 3. There are loads of quality defenders on a fraction of those wages in Europe. Bastoni, Gimenez, Pau Torres & Laporte are on less than £150k/w. The only reason a team will go that high is because he will be a freebie.
October 10, 20214 yr I think he'll leave at the end of the season to join Madrid or Bayern. It's a shame because he's played well for us since Tuchel came in but the club aren't going to be held to ransom off the back of 12 months of good form. If Chalobah continues to impress then that's going to significantly soften the blow should he leave and we're almost certain to go back for Kounde in January or next summer.

Only Gimenez is a bit similar in that way.
October 10, 20214 yr Got turned inside out for the goal.. but the only mistake from him I. Almost a year.. like his pace and hunger.. I think he is in the top 10 defenders in Europe today.. if he is demanding money yo secure a future for himself and his family then fair play.. there is more money we waste on so many worse off players who haven’t even kicked a ball for the club in essence.. football is a business too the owners are billionaires .. so are the decision makers.. so if rudi wants to make the most of a small career .. in which he is putting his body through hell by earning more money.. I bet almost everyone one of us would try to do the same in his place.. so I absolutely don’t grudge this… even JTs camp floated rumours about city to earn his last big contract.

Well Tuchel / Maria clearly disagree with you because he's supposedly just been offered an 11m Euro p.a. contract, which works out to be ~200k a week. I think that's probably the fair market rate for him at the moment, I wouldn't pay more. Sure you might find better bargains, but with much higher levels of uncertainty. There's not much uncertainty left with Rudiger: we know what he can and cannot do in the Premier league.
October 11, 20214 yr Don't think TT has anything to do with our contract offers. So we offered him less than half what PSG did?
October 14, 20214 yr https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/chelsea-real-madrid-antonio-rudiger-21853391.amp?__twitter_impression=true We continue to sit in a stalemate, Madrid will reportedly make an attempt to sign him in January. Now as far as I'm concerned I'm almost 100% certain we keep him for at least the whole season come the summer I assumed at some point we would reach some sort of compromise. Look he's essential to the way we play currently but, that doesn't mean we can't adapt if he leaves. He's one of the main reasons we can play 3atb so comfortably and perhaps we're he to leave next summer TT will be forced to play 4atb who knows. Every Cloud has a silver lining but, I still would like to retain him just not more than 200k a week we're not Arsenal....
October 23, 20214 yr In the eve of facing to lose Rudiger who do we replace him with if it happens? For me he is in many ways irreplaceable at this form. Leadership, physicality, long ball passing, aerial prowess and general sh*thousery are his apparent strengths. Kounde is not a direct replacement. I feel in the Prem you need height and strength in a long season. Ampadu is years off, Guéhi we already lost. Tomori is a possibility but not a direct replacement. Chalobah is the closest replacement that I can think of but he is years off Rudigers level.
October 23, 20214 yr Losing him for free would be a big blow. He's perfect for that LCB role and it would take quite the player to replace the man.

Rudiger has been on fire this season though. It would be hard to find anybody better than him for the LCB role right now. It's going to be a massive blow if we can't get him to sign a new deal.
October 23, 20214 yr Maybe he's playing for the contract but my word. On form right now, what a beast.
October 24, 20214 yr 22 goals conceded in 44 games since Tuchel took over, and Rudiger has started in 36 of those games. I would really hope we are prioritising his contract extension over the signing of someone like Kounde.
