Please guys take it easy on Forever Blue. Stop making it difficult for people to share out there opinion even if you don't agree with it. And let's stop calling people IDIOTS.

People deserve to be called idiots when they say something like "as for Morata, a total joke and waste of money"

To say something like that when a player has only played 2 games for the club is incredibly idiotic. He also ignores that fact that we were playing with a squad depleted in numbers and that Morata was basically on his own vs 6 Tottenham players. It's totally unrealistic to expect a new striker to be dominant when you actually look at the situation we were in.

He also described our performance as "totally embarrassing" when there was nothing embarrassing about it. If anybody had watched us over the years, they would know that we love a win like that, it's something we have become masters at. One of my favourite moments in football came from playing that way ( 2-0 away to Liverpool in 2014 ) If we was to lose the ability to win this way, then i think we would become a weaker side. I bet Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, City and United fans would secretly love to be able to get a few wins playing this way.

Our formation and lineup might change but I love the fact that we can play like that and win when our backs are against the wall and the whole world is against us. It's that spirit that led to us winning titles and I honestly would hate us losing the ability to play like that and win.

At the risk of having everyone and their dog turn on me too lol.....

I think we were extremely lucky to have the win against Tottenham too. They were pretty all over us and created more chances. On another day they could have easily won comfortably...

But, our performance in holding on the way we did was pretty heroic and I'm delighted we managed to pull this out of the fire (so to speak)....

I'm ready to be pelted in abuse now emoji14.png

You didnt join the forum immediately after beating a direct competitor claiming we were lucky and our new record signing is a complete waste of money.

It's ok having a point of view as long as you don't hide behind a fake persona to do it.

Taking him at his word i would share this....

There's a spectrum we as fans all sit on. On one end of the spectrum, are the fans for whom the club/players are perfect and can do no wrong. Every time something happens, it's the other team cheating, the referee getting it wrong, etc. They are really annoying and have nothing constructive to say.

And of course, the other side of the scale. "Fans" who bag out their own team's players constantly, relentlessly negative and may support the team but are ultimately hurting it through their "support". These fans are also annoying and offer basically nothing constructive or interesting.

If falling too far into either end of the spectrum, then you probably aren't adding much value to any discussion and might just be annoying people with your presence.....just a thought...

Spurs huffed and puffed and created very little.

In fact we created the most clear cut chance of the game that wasn't a goal and their goal was a bullet header from our own player.

Never mind the referee not helping us out at all.

Call it a tactical masterclass if you like or say we were dominated if you want, we were always going to get something from the game since Pochetino did absolutely nothing to counteract our gameplan and it played into our hands.

And thats what we are all doing too, we are offering a personal opinion on the utter guff you are writing, I thought this board was for all opinions?

oh dear oh dear oh dear !! No what you are doing is ridiculing, (or at least feebly trying to) an opinion you do  not agree with. Hardly any wonder a lot do not bother with these forums is it ? For the record, & to clarify, it was a great win, I didnt think we deserved it overall, we did however defend well, we got a great 1st goal, gave them the equaliser and got a lucky winner, it really is as simple as that

So let me get this straight.

You have supported Chelsea since 1968.

The internet has been about for best part of a quarter of a century.

This forum has been here well over a decade.

But you turn up the day after we hammered the spuds claiming we were lucky, and then go on about possession in your first couple of posts.

If it smells like a spud, it is a spud.

It's jermain Jeanus!!

Are we voting for M O M vs Possession united as nothing been posted yet?

Which of our players had the ball the most, that's the important stat that defines the motm...

Imagine giving two sh*ts about the manner in which we beat Spurs. We beat spurs. That's all you need to know.

Personally, I loved everything about the way we beat them. Couldn't have written it better. It was an incredible performance with some outstanding individual contributions and many, many positives to take away. And spurs hated it. What's not to like?

No need to go into any more detail; it was an amazing day and one I will be smiling about for days to come.

Anyone who is getting their knickers in a twist about "possession" or "the way we won" is a complete wet wipe in my opinion and needs to have a word with themselves; I won't be engaging that's for damn sure.

Possession..... hahahahahahahaha

I doubt the current players have that quality and mentality. Do you remember that scenario when we were leading but Spurs were all over us with possession then Willian had the ball in our half, Wanyama tried to close him down, Moses was in a good position to get a pass but Willian took the selfish risk to try and dribble his way pass Wanyama but Wanyama gave him no chance and Willian waisted the ball when he eventually kick it out of play. Then I asked myself if Ramires, Mikel or Meireles would have done the same in such a critical time of the game when we were trying to close the game taking all 3 points, the answer was obvious. That team that won the champions league were very much mature mentally when it comes to holding on to a win. They aren't the most skilful but they are very discipline.

On second thoughts, I actually wholeheartedly agree with you.

LMFAO

FB too much intellectuallizing  for a hardcore CFC fan footy board, when the mighty Chels beat the spuds away it's the cats whiskers, we don't want point counter point, or a no holds barred critique of players in blue or tactics, what we want is to gloat and  larf at those liilywhite fux.

Carefree .......

Spurs had 67.7% possession during the game.... however,......CFC possessed 100% of the points at the final whistle..... so ya....possession....

Yeah, intellectual no holds barred critiquing like this you mean...

"as for Morata, a total joke and waste of money"

It's just the usual sh*t of

> excessively over the top critique 'morata is a joke and waste of money'
> met with same level of response 'that is a dumb opinion'

> followed by 'AM I NOT ALLOWED MY OPINION?' which is people who have no idea how forums work or just arguing in bad faith. Usually the latter.

It's a forum not a blog.

I love it when new forum members come in all guns blazing, a full service history, "I was there when Ossie won the cup", strong opinions and self-righteous indignation when their obvious lack of knowledge is pointed out, even though they keep on giving more and more examples of that lack.  You've already gone from "we was totally battered" to "battered at the end of the 1st half and start  of the 2nd half."

You're going to last a long long time, and rapidly become one of the most respected forum members.  Welcome aboard, matey.  We must be about the same age - I'm going to enjoy discussing all our history with you.  You know, all that stuff that google doesn't know, because it wasn't there, man!

+ 1. I must be a similar age, first game was in about 1967..

As the song goes "where were you when we were sh1t?". I was in the benches, gate 13, Cardiff, Cambridge, Grimsby, all the crap away grounds in the late 70s and early 80s

Looking forward to discussing games from then with the new poster...

glimpsed some posts that say on another day, bla bla bla.. and we were lucky bla bla bla...

It's called, organisation, shape and defending and a game plan. And if this was a seria A game in the mid 90's there would be absolutely no discussion as to who the better team was

Having now see Chelsea under conte for the last year, it's clear to see that he isn't 100% brought in to this pure high press thing. Our team seems to go through periods of the game where they will use it and others where they will get in to shape, conserve some energy and make it hard to pull them out.

To put this in to context, Ali, one of the best goalscorers from midfield and a player who seems to have similar movement and goal scoring instincts to frank had one touch in the box! on touch. Is it lucky that we prevented one of their biggest threats having any of the ball were he can hurt us. As the game went on you saw him more and more turn up on the left wing, exactly where you would want to have such a player show up. How many balls did Ericsson manage to whip in from open play? like he had in previous games that hurt us. He was was smothered out of it.

And as the game wore on spurs got more and more fatigued, before the goal came you could see they didn't have the legs under them as much and even after going 1-1 the game was swinging towards us.

Was it the perfect game, no, could we have kept the ball better for periods, absolutely... but it was not a lucky result, it was reward for executing a game plan that was effective and nullified spurs biggest assets
