Your unpopular opinion about Chelsea

4. I don't think Hazard is Messi and Ronaldo level, don't think he'll ever be unless he scores at least 20 goals a season, and that won't happen in PL.

To be honest, i don't think many think he is on their level.

It bugs me whenever we see Hazard have a top game and the likes of Gary Neville will say "if he wants to be on Messi and Ronaldo's level, he has to do this every week". Can't we just enjoy what Hazard does do instead of constantly comparing him to two of the best players the game has ever produced ? Players like Messi and Ronaldo don't come around often. These two are a freak of nature and i doubt we will ever see anything like either of them again in our lifetime. They are up their with the greats like Pele, Maradona, Zidane and Titus Bramble ( )

Maradona, Zidane and Pele are above though = they won the WC

My unpopular opinion:

I think Emanelo has generally done a good job.

There have been issues around communication and working with the manager of the day for sure. But I'd argue, in general (since Emanelo), the less the say (the managers we've had) have in transfer dealings, the better we've done.

I think this thread is a bit of a laugh. It's a sort of a way to blow a few 'group think' opinions out of the water.

It's cathartic! Not sure I have too many unpopular opinions though. I guess some strange ones?

- I thought AVB was the second coming and would build a legacy.

- Selling Mata hurt more than anything I'd ever felt football related, I think I even cried(!)

- I still think Essien was overrated.

- I wanted to marry Jody Morris and never understood why he didn't appear for us anymore. I don't really think I knew about transfers. Yeah plays that's weird rather than unpopular.

- I love Harry Kane and I'd lose my sh*t if we ever signed him.

Cuadrado probably would've succeeded under Conte.
He was bought in the middle of the title winning 2014/15 season, he didn't get rotated into the squad enough and by then, the Jose cracks were beginning to show towards the end.

De Bryne probably would have succeeded under Conte

Salah probably would have succeeded under Conte

Lukaku probably would have succeeded under Conte

Mourinho has alot to answer for.....

I don't see it that way, JM had to make decisions with what he had available at the time. In saying that I like prospect of selling on with conditions like first refusal or a percentage cut of future sales.

Yeah desperate for one of the best strikers in the world

Well, we did go a full season with Torres, Ba & Eto'o. We seemed to get that Costa deal wrapped very quickly & Atletico had a CL final at the time. You could assume there was some desperation in that.

My unpopular opinion would be on the fans.

I dislike a lot of our young fan base of today, but I guess that's kind of common with a lot of big clubs.

Matthew Harding gets far too much praise & support for doing very little for the club.

Stand named after him, fair play nice touch but flags & chants? nah not for me.

The only blue & white army chant i'd ever sing would be John Neal's.

You need to read this...

But Conte did have time with Cuadrado last season?

Read it before still doesnt change my opinion

If it wasn't for Matthew Harding you might not have a club to support, his importance to Chelsea cannot be over-estimated.

I was mad as hell when we sold Mata to United, it didn't help that i had the flu when it happened. For me, it was the worst transfer out of the club i have ever witnessed. To sell our 2 times player of year to them was unforgivable in my opinion, i'm still not over it properly and never will be. He was one of the key reasons why we won 2 European trophies and an F.A Cup.

I think Rafa did a great job for us even when I hated the time we signed him

I hate Mata for leaving us to join United of all clubs. I know it wasn't his fault but I still hold that grudge against him. I used to really love him.

Mata leaving for them felt like being dumped and realising she wasn't who you thought she was.

I think some people forget just how good Mata was in his second season with us. Without him, there is no way we make top 4 or win the Europa League. 20 goals and 28 assists is incredible stats in one season.

Rubbish if it wasnt for Bates you wouldnt have a club to support.

Harding loaned the club money Bates came in & saved the club when no one else would touch us.
