September 4, 20178 yr I don't see how anyone can accuse us of buying the league anymore. If you look at the past 5 years, in comparison to other clubs, the only real inflated price we spent on a rival player was Torres and even then he didn't contribute to us winning the league. In terms of buying players, we have been the most shrewd but also perhaps most successful. Example: United have spent over £700m since Fergie left and have still not won a league title. Meanwhile we've only spent £540 (not including this recent transfer window) and we've been the most successful. How anyone can accuse us of buying the league in this modern era of Football is beyond me.

Everyone knows that, they can't let go of it because then they'd have to acknowledge that we're better than them which they won't ever
September 9, 20178 yr You want an unpopular opinion? Our fan base is infested with racists and we are far too quick to defend their behaviour or pretend it's not a problem. It's not Spurs fans blocking a black man from getting on a train. Or Everton fans wrecking a cafe and abusing waiters. And it wasn't the Leicester fans chanting anti-Semitic songs today.Chelsea condemn anti-Semitic Alvaro Morata chant from fans at Leicester - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41216477I'm sick to death of other fans of the club I love letting me down by being thugs and racists.

Or Everton fans wrecking a cafe and abusing waiters. Oh yea spurs fans are wonderful aren't they. Quote Arsenal Fan TV presenter Robbie Lyle has claimed he was called a 'black c***' in a spouting of racist abuse amid crowd trouble following Tottenham's 2-0 win in Sunday's north London derby. Lyle, the face and founder of the popular Arsenal supporter-led YouTube channel, was subjected to abuse along Tottenham High Road after exiting the ground on Sunday and given a personal police escort. Videos from the scene saw fans air a series of songs aimed at the recognisable YouTube presenter, who claims he was called a 'black c***' while being helped away from the ground. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4460902/Arsenal-Fan-TV-presenter-claims-called-black-c.html Edited September 10, 20178 yr by kiwi1691
September 10, 20178 yr http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4460902/Arsenal-Fan-TV-presenter-claims-called-black-c.htmlThat's awful but you just proved my point. Rather than accepting we have a problem you pointed at the problems other have. We should clean our own house rather than whine about other people's houses being just as dirty.

'Infested' describes the racism on Croatian terraces, but not in this country, not anymore. I agree with you on the rest, just not that word.
September 10, 20178 yr Spurs have a better starting XI and manager than us. If I was Hazard I would look to move abroad. Mata was overrated based on the fact hes a nice guy. He cannot run & was a masterstroke getting £40m.
September 10, 20178 yr I don't think we're infested at all, we have a minority of people who do these things, the same as other clubs.

Do we have some racist morons as fans, yes. Do many other clubs, yes. They are all f**king morons we could do without being involved with our club. But we are no better or worse than most clubs.

September 10, 20178 yr I think Cech in his prime was better than both. Courtois is definitely overrated. Usually has a mistake in him and doesn't pull off as many of the vital points-saving saves per game Cech used to.

Thibaut is like the Pre-Conte Luiz You can tell the talent is there but he tries to be too smart sometimes and it backfires.
September 10, 20178 yr Cech was better before the Reading tackle. He was fearless in claiming the ball
September 10, 20178 yr (a sidenote... This thread must make enjoyable reading for opposition fans. A bit like going on redcafe once in a while to see what they're saying about Chelsea and Chelsea players after a good Chelsea win - or a bad loss for them.) Edited September 10, 20178 yr by Sun zhi
September 13, 20178 yr Unpopular opinion. 1. Chelsea fans chant the managers name too much when it is the players doing all the hard work. 2. RedCafe is a better forum than this. (I use it more than this site. It's like being in the home end at away matches. If you know what I mean) 3. Kerry Dixon is a bit of a thug. I can't believe I just said that.
September 13, 20178 yr 1. Andy North is a w**ker. 2. Redcafe is full of w**kers. 3. Andy North is a w**ker. 4. Kerry Dixon is not a w**ker.

September 13, 20178 yr Ok, so bare with me here... I am in no way condoning racism or anti-Semitic language or chants but I can't help but feel the Morata song has received a knee jerk reaction and people are going after it extremely hard just because it's Chelsea and it's the thing to do these days. How long has the 'we'll be running round Tottenham' chant been around? A hell of a lot longer than Morata has played for us that's for sure. Surely that is at least equally as anti-Semitic as the Morata chant? People jumping up and down about it now are seriously trying to say they've never heard that chant at a game or in a pub before? I don't believe that for a second. I'm not condoning it, but I think it's more an educational problem that blatant racism/anti semitism. Don't get me wrong, I completely acknowledge we have them in our support and we should weed out the hardcore among us that are R/AS. Of course, it doesn't take away from our own flaws but we are definitely not alone, football was originally a working mans game, I think every club will always have that aspect of their support and unfortunately that's never going to change. That's my unpopular opinion. Again, I am not condoning it, just find it all a bit hypocritical of everyone to start jumping up and down about it now.
September 13, 20178 yr The biggest hypocritical part is the fact we have been called Chelsea rent boys for decades and its basically accepted, never once has anyone from the media or FA decided homophobic chanting towards Chelsea fans is unacceptable.
September 13, 20178 yr I cannot believe Andy North (did you really win two US Opens) said that redcafe is better than this forum. The foul language allowed on redcafe is really abhorrent, and the monitors on that site do not seem to care one bit about it. Maybe I am a bit of a prude, but I cannot stand redcafe for that reason alone.

Yes when we won the cup in 97 I was so proud, remember driving back from Wembley that evening with scarf out car window, got back to Chichester and pulled up at a roundabout, a great big motor bike swerved in front of me at the junction, I thought here we go what does he want, road rage coming I thought? He glared back at me, lifted his visor, looked at my scarf out the window, then put his thumbs up!! "When wise went up to lift the fa cup"
