Ovrebo's mistakes would have been an amusing footnote had Drogba and especially Anelka converted just one more of the eight chances they had.

Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Can't stand talk about supposed conspiracies from referees, FA, media, you name it. Or  indignant posts like: "If it had been a Chelsea player, imagine the uproar". Exhausting. 

This isn't my own unpopular opinion but many commentators thought Peter Bonetti was to blame for Englands failure in the 1970 world Cup.

 

Personally I thought it was Alan Mullery's.

He was at fault for the first goal. Taking off Charlton changed the pattern of play too. Ultimately though it wasn't to be,the loss of Banks and the 100 degree heat all played there part. Great finals though and probably the one that got away in terms of us winning the cup.

It should also be mentioned for Germany's 3rd goal, Labone completely let Muller go free and Moore was slow on the cover, however Bonetti got the blame for that goal nationwide. TBH England missed so many chances in that game also, and arguably could have had 2 penalties. And agreed this one did get away from us.

So here's one that's kind of about Chelsea.

Harry Redknapp is strongly disliked by a lot of Chelsea fans but I always thought he was a nice bloke and respectable, I like how he defends his players and how he stays humble after defeat. He also showed a lot of support for Carlo Ancelotti when he was under big media scrutiny, never really had anything against Harry, his son Jamie, however, is a clueless twit.

Is he? From limited experience talking to other Chelsea fans about Harry i always felt we weren't really bothered about him either way.

A lot of local fans can't stand him, purely because of who he's managed, pretty much all our rivals. But can't say I've met a Chelsea fan who has a good opinion of him. 

The Ghost goal! Why are we moaning about and incorrect goal that had it not been given would see Cech being sent off, conceding a penalty and missing the final? We had 80 minutes with 11 men to score and failed. 

Man City look like going into a period of dominance, like we were supposed to. And are doing it with style!

Absolutely....we should have taken our chances.....but thats part of the game......can happen to any team. What isnt amusing is the 2-3 stonewall pens that were waved away......that ref along with UEFA knew damn well what they had done......pure corruptness that game.

I rather think that the Illuminati have better things to be getting on with than sabotaging little old us.

Manchester City is just as detestable as United, Arsenal & Liverpool. It kind of annoys me when people say they prefer City over the other teams, not to mention their FFP loophole scandals but they'll inevitably be big rivals once they start winning things and we start winning things more consistently, it's just weird so many fail to recognise that.

suprisingly, this is pretty spot on. I can't stand city since 2014, when mancini subbed in Lampard against us !!! Hopefully we'll be able to knock them out of the UCL this year !!

I think a lot of the reason people don't mind City is that we're fairly similar in ways of how we got our success.

Although, what opposition fans seem to forget is that we won more between 97-03 before Roman than Arsenal have in the past 13 years.

City were absolutely hopeless.

I think Courtois is overrated.
