Chelsea vs Everton (LC) 25th October 2017 19:45 KO

Funnily enough Pardew might just get them winning a few games, yet not for the long term. I suppose the question is are they going for a short term solution or straight away going to splash the cash and poach another working manager.

Another that could work short term would be Allardyce.

Very reasonable time to rest our players, hoping for a lot of rotation, I think we can win this game comfortably, Everton are in a bad state.

I still like the League Cup. I've not so fond memories of losing the final to Stoke City, but Jose's first trophy win against Liverpool was fantastic. I'd love us to win it again, and I'd love us to win it with a team built around a core of young players.

Everton will up their game, they have a lot to prove. I can see us getting knocked out on Wednesday because of that, but let's hope not.

As Everton have sacked there manager I can see them upping there game for this one.

Conte may rest some key player but I reckon batsman will start Kennedy will feature and maybe Chelsea may give Ethan  Ampadu a chance as he was in the bench on Saturday but  I’m going with a 2-1 to Chelsea

It's the perfect game for to do rest from first team, let's see how young players going playing against Everton, i don't think that Everton will give his better team for this game. Mostly that they are not at the top in PL.

Willy

Rudiger-Christensen-Cahill

Zappa-Kennedy

Ampadu-Scott

Musonda-Michy-Willian

Bring christensen to the midfield, as starting with Both ampadu And scott is a risk,  we might get runover in the midfield. Get JCS at the back. That I feel is how we should line up. Is there a CF in our U23 we can put on bench for this match?

Subs eduardo, dujon, azpi, fab, Scott, pedro, U23 CF

I reckon the midfield will be Luiz plus a youngster, would be nice if Drinkwater could play a cameo, he's been injured for how long how? Thank god Barkley refused to sign up, otherwise we'd have 100M worth of midfielders on the injury list. We should be able to beat them, but I will take a lose if it means we could rest players to win the league game on Saturday.

Aloha!

Just my two cents but I believe that this upcoming game is a waste of time. If Conte is wise I think he should put out a young team against Everton. I personally think that one less competition would do us good for rest days and recovery. I think getting knocked out now rather than later could help our starting players recover from exhaustion. Morata, Hazard and Luiz are playing week in and out but clearly haven't recovered from their recent injuries. David Luiz is carrying on an injury from last season, the guy can barely stand. I would look forth to the two massive games coming up that are Bournmouth away and Roma away before hosting United. I believe that November and December is our gateway to reclaiming lost ground as the fixtures become more intense. We don't need the Cabararo Cup. Finally, we need to work with Moses, Kante and Drinkwater. These boys should be starting, if Drinkwater is fit I don't see Bokoyako playing and that would leave Kante, Fabrigas and Drinkwater to rotate.  I still think we can win but it's all about managing the situation. We need a good run until we play Arsenal on the 1st of January.

Thanks guys needed to get this off my chest!

Not saying we should go full strength but Conte has 2 games (Everton and B’mouth) in which to sort us out before we have 2 big games (Roma away and United home).

If we get bad results again Everton and B’mouth then it doesn’t set us up well for the 2 big ones.

Maybe we should try experimenting with a new formation?
I'm hoping for 433
This isn't the team I'd pick for Everton, but our strongest team in that position.
Thibaut
Azpi Cahill Rudiger Alonso
Kante Fabregas Bakayoko
Pedro Morata Hazard

Could we see Drinkwater feature at some point??

You do know cesc and baka are our only fit midfielders right. An baka isnt even fully fit. If we keep on protecting Ampadu and scott we will be forced to play them in a big game like Roma and Man u because cesc and baka are bound to get injured due to fatigue.

Well.... I know my opinion is not popular and might receive a lot of backclash, but I believe, regarding our squad depth and the challenges we have to face in the PL and UCL, unless we play our U-23 squad for the EFL and FA cups, bar 1 or 2 regular, this will heavily affect our performances in both the PL and UCL. Therefore, I expect full rotation bar Willian and Batsman.

I see your point but no way is Conte going to start Ampadu and Scott together and a lot of people are putting Scott in their lineups which I am sure will not happen. Scott imo will never even be good enough for Chelsea. Just shows the lack of depth. Most of our CM out on loan are much better than he is. Ampady has a chance of starting but no way will both be starting together. Can put my house on it. Yes, not our biggest priority but Conte will still want to win the game. Look at City playing Jesus and Aguero both together against a Championship team who made many changes. And I see a few people putting JCS in their lineup. Highly doubt that too.

Well Conte keeps on complaining about too many games and not enough training time. If he is smart he will rest players for this game because bournemouth Roma and Man u are more important. He wont get any pity from me if we have important players missing important games because of the carabao cup, besides what is the point of Scott training with the team if he cant play this game. He might as well go on loan to the championship or whichever level he fits

Even U18 players train with the first team. But he is not ready to play for the first team. Yes, Scott trains more with first team but he is really making up numbers. And yes, he prob will eventually go on loan. However can I understand Conte not starting him? Of course, because he still will want to keep morale in the team. Everton will have a good team out. If we lose tomorrow, morale goes down and that is why I think while Conte will make changes it will not be extreme as people are thinking. Would be hugely surprised to see JCS or Scott.

Ampadu and Scott especially are nowhere near ready to play for the first team. If we play them we'll struggle to even hold the ball in the middle of the park. I'm sure two professional footballers can play twice a week until the end of the month when Danny and Kante are back or until next game when Luiz can play in the middle.
