February 21, 20197 yr atack the goal and try to shoot rather than pass it around to the other side. That's the reason why CHO rarely gets game time, his pattern of play doesn't fit Sarri ball. When you get the ball, Sarri wants the ball to be passed around whereas CHO often threaten the opponents by pushing the ball towards there box or run to the wings and make some dangerous cross into the box which leads to goals. I doubt he will ever get more game time after tonight's awesome display because Sarri obviously wasn't impressed especially when he scored.

We had a replay of Sarri celebrating when Hudson-Odoi scored. Sarri is the manager, he is going to be happy whoever it is that scores the goals.

February 21, 20197 yr Sarri wants players to attack the goal in 1v1 situations. I'm 99% sure he is not the only coach in the world who prefers players to pass in a 1v1 at the edge of the box. That is not what's keeping CHO out of the team. It's Sarri's stubborn mentality.

After this performance he has no choice but to play him again. Willian is older and more tired and Pedro is sick.

Oh you poor, naive, small minded individual! He’ll start Willian and Hazard even if one dropped dead three days before. If not, Zappacosta
February 22, 20197 yr Super, super happy to see CHO getting 90 minutes and a goal but.....check out Sarri's post mast comments: Quote “We have Pedro, Willian, Hazard, it’s not easy for a young player to play with consistency as his team mates. I want to remember you that Callum played 14 matches, there isn’t in England another player with 14 matches in the first team. I think we are using in the right way.” “The 20 matches in this season will become 30 in the next, then 40 in two years. The club must decide because if I am at the club and want Callum on the pitch with consistency, I must sell another winger or the manager is in trouble.” WHAT? WHAT? The lad puts in a strong performance, finally gets some confidence back, and then you immediately tell the press that for him to get consistent gametime, the club needs to sell a winger? ARGHHHHHHHH*$*%&($*)%&@#$)%& And 14 matches? Give me a f*cking break. You count 6 minutes at the end of the first leg as a match? 9 minutes against Newcastle as another match? 5 minutes against BATE? This is beyond ridiculous now. Look, I'm not expecting CHO to start against Man City in a cup final. But at the very least, say something along the lines of "He's earned himself more minutes after this performance." or "He's in contention for more PL minutes now" or something more positive that reflects the reality of the situation. CHO has only played 74 PL minutes this season. 74! Surely you can find room to increase that, especially given our struggles at RW? I think even Pedro would understand it if CHO got a few more PL starts going forward. And let's not forget. Hazard might be gone next season. Pedro probably gone. Willian might be gone. Even if Sarri privately thought this, why would he say this publicly? right after a genuinely good performance from the kid? If I was CHO, I would be devastated. AND, it's additional fodder for his advisors to convince him to leave. This just makes zero sense to me. Given what has happened this season, if CHO wants to leave in the summer, I would have nothing to say. We've only brought this upon ourselves. EDIT: I know some may think I'm overreacting, but Sarri SHOULD NOT be making comments like this to the press. He's been saying the wrong things to the media all season long. February 22, 20197 yr Below is Sarri talking CHO. See he's decided to with the "played 14 matches" presenting a 10 minute cameo as being the same as a start. If Sarri wants consitency then he should try giving him a chance to show it. Also seems like he is saying CHO can expect maybe 6 "matches" more or less between now and the end of the season. 4:55 Here Sarri seems to mention that to play CHO more the club has to get rid of one of Hazard, Pedro, or WillIan... I kind of get it, but who's making the decisions here? He can force playing players that other teammates are getting visible frustrated with on the pitch, but he can't toss CHO more minutes? It's 4 players between 2 positions.... I don't know, but it smells either of just a BS weak excuse or Sarri trying to manipulate some personnel changes... potentially at the expense of alienating a player who, giving going rates, could likely save us atleast as much as Pusilic cost and rising and way more to replace and is not only homegrown but has been with the club since he was around 6 or 7 years old....... if he maximizes his potential and becomes world class while staying at the club that is mind blowing, but even if he tappers out to be a squad player that's fantastic and likely a big money saver still.... Maybe I'm just getting over excited, but the thought of him playing for our club for years to come excites me. 5:55

I think we all just genuinely care for a gifted academy graduate who we feel is getting a raw deal from an extremely stubborn manager. I think CHO has already proven himself against lower league and Europa league competition. Heck, he even put in a shift for the Tottenham cup game. I'm not advocating he start all our games going forward. I just believe he has earned himself more PL minutes. A few starts against bottom half opposition. 20-30 minute sub appearances against tougher opposition. Just give him a chance Sarri, you might surprise yourself! February 22, 20197 yr Explosive, raw, exciting, he's already a fan favourite and still just a teenager. Munich would probably pay £50m right this minute for him. You don't need a diploma in football scouting to see the bloody obvious. Sarri has to play him, he would instantly gain favour with the support by playing him, giving himself more time in the job, critical if Sarri is to progress.
February 22, 20197 yr Yeah but he won’t. The only way we will see Hudson Odoi staying is if we sack Sarri, I reckon it’s going to be a long season for CHO.
February 22, 20197 yr Probably wouldn't start him against City as he's likely to do very little and it gives Sarri an excuse not to play him in future but should certainly start league games now.

Another shocker right here. How about building your extremely talented 18-year old up instead of doing this? You are the one who's complained the players you have used previously have been "extremely difficult to motivate" afterall. So why not give the hungry, great youngster we have a run in the team?

I said earlier, send the same team that got stuffed 6-0 to wembley, let them sink or swim in the final. Then next league game Spuds, get him on the pitch from the off, then play all the league games in March, fulham wolves everton cardiff.

I'd keep Kovacic and Kante in midfield as ballwinners and sit deep and counter with Hazard, CHO and Higuain up top. The team that got stuffed 6-0 have been embarrassed by every decent team we have faced recently so it would be shocking to see that same team for a final.
February 22, 20197 yr CHO demonstrated in pre-season that he was good enough to start every game ... let alone last night. f**k knows why Sarri can't see the blindingly obvious ... maybe he needs new glasses ? Or just needs to look up a bit more from all that scribbling in his notebook ? If I was picking he team, I'd write Hazard down first, Kante second, and third would be young Callum.

Both under-performed this season. Both look what they are, wingers over 30 whose best years are now behind them. If getting rid of both of them accommodates a great youth prospect chased by Europe's elite then I think the majority of the fan base is behind that.

By the time the board gets around to selling Willian and Pedro, CHO might already have his heart dead set on leaving For the conspiracy theorists.....is Sarri being instructed to persist with Willian and Pedro in the hopes of keeping their sale prices up? This situation is really doing my head in. I've never seen such utter incompetence at man management. Edited February 22, 20197 yr by dustbin719

If Sarri stays it's very unlikely he stays past this summer. With a year left on his contract we would sell him when Bayern or someone else came knocking.
