Callum Hudson-Odoi

He can be on the bench and play in Europe. Next season 25 starting games is expected if he stays.

What's to say he will play next season? He cant play this year when others are underperforming so how does that change with a 60m winger coming in? I would be pissed watching Willian today and Pedro on Wednesday.

Next season Pedro and Willian won't be playing as many games (Pedro is going to be 32 years old, Willian 31) and who knows maybe the club sells one of them or both.

Maybe Hazard will leave maybe not.

Pulisic is coming and he will also need the space just like Hudson-Odoi, I expect that there will be a lot of changes in the roles and that some winger will leave, if the board is smart they will sell the older wingers and keep Hudson-Odoi, if they are stupid then Hudson-Odoi will be leaving.

Looking at it from CHO's point of view though, he starts of in the squad at the beginning of the season, must of been promised some game time otherwise a loan would have been better off. He has had 2 starts out of 6 in European games, 1 start in the EFL which was the semi final after Bayern showed some interest so he didn't start in any of the earlier rounds. If I was him I would at least expect to start all of them apart from maybe the semi final. Then once he did start getting a look in after the interest from Bayern he has watched 2 wingers for quite a while now under perform and he still dont get to start. I can see why his pissed IMO and probably doesn't have much believe under the current manager.

Are you saying that age is the pre-requisite to play in the first XI rather than ability or form?

I think he's saying a 32 or 31 year old body can't take playing 2 matches a week over a full season, especially when those players depend on pace

It depends really because I mention different players.

I think that Hudson-Odoi at 18 should be playing more games but so far Sarri doesn't believe in that. Historically most legends got their chance as soon as they were good enough, biggest stars from England e.g. Rooney,Beckham,Owen got to play many games at the age of 18, so I believe that Hudson-Odoi should get his chance as well.

But when it comes to Chelsea, in general the club wasn't giving out more than 1 year extension contracts to players over 29 years old, now it just happens that I don't see Pedro nor Willian getting any better next season, adding that they will also be past their peak I would say that in their case, age does matter, that's maybe why Pulisic is coming and that that's the biggest reason why the club didn't want to sell Hudson-Odoi, because:

1. Maybe the board decided to not disturb the winger-hierarchy this season, and let Willian and Pedro have their last run of many games in rotation because if Pulisic had came in January e.g. Willian would be unhappy like he was last season when Conte wasn't playing him enough.

2. Hudson-Odoi was not in the plans of the board to be played much this season because of the number 1 theory, Willian and Pedro must have their last season with many games.

3. Hudson-Odoi is in the long term solution of the board, and so is Pulisic but they must not disturb the current season, Willian and Pedro must be sold for a decent price despite their age.

4. Sarri said multiple times that he can't help Hudson-Odoi to play more games, as if he isn't the one making the lineups but someone else, so it goes along with the theory that the board has a plan already set in motion.

5. Both Pedro and Willian have their contracts that expire 2020, this summer will be the last chance for the board to sell them before everyone just wait for those players to be free agents so they must be a priority this season, thus Pulisic is bought but stays in BvB and Hudson-Odoi must wait till next season to have his role changed.

We all know what side Sarri will go with tomorrow, so i'm not sure how the club expects Callum Hudson-Odoi to change his philosophy and sign a new contract. The fans want him to stay and many see him as part of the future, Willian and Pedro have done very little all season in my opinion to be keeping him out, especially Willian.

Tomorrow is an ideal opportunity for Sarri to send a message out to CHO to say, yes I do trust you, show us what you can do, but alas I fear not. Very Frustrating

Surely people dont expect CHO to start tomorrow against Man city. He is very good but we need experience and points to make top 4. I would play him against lower half opposition though.

i think many would argue this

But the experience that you're talking about are playing poorly, CHO wont weaken the side imo

Hudson Odoi has a fever.

I hope people remember that before they start calling for Sarri’s head when they see the squad tomorrow.

They’re not even pay attention to the information being presented to them right here in your post. Doesn’t fit their narrative.

Lol.. plus I don’t think CHO is really blasting his way into the squad yet.. Willian has improved over the last 2 matches and she’d start over CHO on merit.

Really? I thought he was terrible against Huddersfield. There were lots of moans and groans, including people shouting ‘get him off’, around the stadium.

I know mate. I’m waiting for the usual “OMG NO HUDSON ODOI! WE NEVER GIVE THE YOUTH A CHANCE! SACK SARRI!”

I appreciate Hudson Odoi’s immense talent but I hate how some are speaking like CHO must start every game. He’s not even that good, yet.

Willian was awful against Huddersfield.

I have changed my mind. Go to Bayern kid you deserve better than the garbage we are serving up. It may be a third rate league but we are turning in to the laughing stock of our league. Worse we are the poor wenger's arsenal...

Pedro plays sh*t, Willian comes in, Willian plays sh*t, Pedro comes in, rinse and repeat. He may get a go against Malmo but I would bet a lot that Willian plays against United in the cup.

We've just finished the 26th game of the season yesterday with only 12 left.  CHO has not started a single one of those and has only had 74minutes across 4 substitute appearances (and 42 of those minutes were due to injury (Pedro) with no other winger option and he was subbed off after being subbed on lol).

I don't think most people are expecting him to start every game (mind you if he got a chance he might well earn it), when we just want him to start a single game....because, you know, the kid is rated as one of the best teenagers in the world talent wise and despite our wingers being dross for much of the season, two-thirds through the season he hasn't even played the equivalent of a single game in the league and until the Bayern issue pretty much got no time.

So ya, some of us would like to see what he can do before he signs for another club....... because at this rate, unless he is the deluded Chelsea fan we all are, I see no reason why he'd sign a contract extension versus handing in another transfer request.

Yes, he's had the flu this weekend, but is that the excuse we're going with for why he's only had 74 minutes in the league when over 2,340 have been played?  Some flu.
