By the time the board gets around to selling Willian and Pedro, CHO might already have his heart dead set on leaving All we can do is convince CHO we value him and play him as much as possible. Saying he's getting more game time than anyone else his age is frankly a ridiculous argument from Sarri. Jordon Sancho has played roughly 1,800 minutes for a table topping Dortmund side. CHO has played about 400 minutes for a struggling Chelsea side. As the old cliche goes if they're good enough, they're old enough and Sarri just seems to come out with an endless stream of excuses for not playing someone who keeps proving their quality whenever given a chance.

Or just needs to look up a bit more from all that scribbling in his notebook ? If I was picking he team, I'd write Hazard down first, Kante second, and third would be young Callum. Third should be Rudiger, then comes Callum[emoji106][emoji106] 2 hours ago, ForeverCarefree said: If that's what Sarri thinks then fine, sell Willian and Pedro. Both under-performed this season. Both look what they are, wingers over 30 whose best years are now behind them. If getting rid of both of them accommodates a great youth prospect chased by Europe's elite then I think the majority of the fan base is behind that. Cant see Sarri allowing Pedro or Willian to leave. Sarri already made it clear how much he values old and experience players in his team. Am sure Pulisic wasn't aware of it before he signed for us. He and CHO will make good friends on the bench next season. And if Hazard leaves, am sure Sarri is already scouting Perisic as his replacement. 1 hour ago, dustbin719 said: My only fear is that it's already too late. This situation is really doing my head in. I've never seen such utter incompetence at man management. He persists with Willian and Pedro because he thinks players older than 27 are more consistent than the younger players. With the old players, he think he already knows the performance he will get from them every game, but the younger players are unpredictable just like CHO showed yesterday, they can be really outstanding at times!
February 22, 20197 yr Was at the bridge last night and after seeing him live, there is no doubt in my mind he should be starting. Everytime he gets the ball he looks electric. Of course there are some mistakes in him, but what 18 year old doesnt have that in him? In fact, he's actually so good, that I'd say he's actually one of our best players. After Hazard he is definitely up there as one of the best players for us on the pitch
February 22, 20197 yr Quote The club must decide because if I am at the club and want Callum on the pitch with consistency, I must sell another winger or the manager is in trouble Or you could just play Hudson-Odoi ahead of one of those wingers...... This comment from Sarri is one of his strangest to date. I don't see why it should make any difference if a winger is sold or not before Hudson-Odoi get's more minutes. What is Sarri saying here? that Pedro and Willian are untouchable just because they have been in the game longer?

Well, you've seen how Willian reacts if he's not picked as much as he wants... and how did the club react? Made him captain in the preseason while Dave and Hazard were away. Hopefully Chelsea gets some money for Willian this summer.

He will lose the ball in dangerous areas but you have to accept that for all the good points and the fact he will be developing and improving. Kovacic had a decent game last night but even he gave the ball away near the edge of our own box. Probably good for a player like CHO that we don't have a Jose type coach right now so he is allowed to play with the shackles off and express himself. Just want to see the lad get better and better and scare the sh*t out of opposition defenders whilst hopefully the club are convincing to stay and become ONE OF OUR OWN!!
February 22, 20197 yr CHO's been with the club longer than any senior player has..... He's more Chelsea than anyone in that dressing room right if we're being honest. That's part of the tragedy of looking at the complete mismanagement of him that will likely mean the first top quality person from our academy (who joined us at the age of 6 or 7) since Terry may very well become a key player for another top club in Europe.
February 22, 20197 yr Dont sell 1, sell 2. Bye bye Pedro and Willian, hello CHO and our new American signing. Sorted.

Every player will make mistakes, and its just part of the learning curve. If anything its better hes making mistakes at such a young age, so as he gets older and more experienced those mistakes get ironed out. I thought Kovacic didnt do too much last night tbh, but it was still a fairly decent performance. The crowd were singing CHO's name nonstop last night, so I hope he appreciates it and understands that pretty much every fan is backing him and hoping for him to stay
February 22, 20197 yr What I find strange in this whole episode is that the reason Hudson-Odoi doesn't get more minutes is because he is defensively naive (Due to his young age) but Luiz keeps Christensen out due to his attacking abilities, so we dont play 1 attacking youngster because of his lack of defensive abilities and we dont play a defensive youngster due to his lack of creative abilities. Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me
February 22, 20197 yr Can't see how he stays with the transfer ban. We'll lose him for free AND won't be able to replace him if we keep him beyond this summer.

March 7, 20197 yr The kid is an absolute player, I sound like a broken record about this as I constantly go on about it but I don’t care. Odoi is destined to be a top, top player, Bayern weren’t sniffing about for nothing. He’s a top talent. If we lose him through lack of game time, I’m not sure I’d be able to forgive Sarri for it, after all the talk about him being able to be considered beside Willian & Pedro was rubbish as he’s seen limited game time. The thing is every time he plays he brings something to the table, his output in his limited amount of time is very impressive for a player of his age. We really need to start trusting these players. That means Sarri, the board, Roman the message needs to feed down that we need to use the academy. RLC was good when he came on as well, as was Christensen, his backheel in the corner was very tidy football which I don’t think he gets the credit for.
March 7, 20197 yr Really no excuse not playing him more minutes this game, Dynamo Kiev has a few players under 23 years old, 2 are 19 years old. No excuse, we could have won this game 6:0 that's the real difference in quality really. He needs to start the next game vs Wolves, I said I won't question Sarri's lineups anymore but if he isn't starting games I will never support Sarri.

I think he has a better chance at starting the second leg of this tie, than he does starting against Wolves
March 7, 20197 yr Sarri going on about his age again. Look, if he's good enough, he's old enough. Imagine if Sarri had managed Messi, Mbappe, Robben, Sterling etc, they would barely have played under him. Then he goes onto say he will be great by the age of 22-23.......but what good is that going to do us if he is playing for a different club? It's getting silly now. Nobody is saying he should be playing him every week, but you look at players around his age and they are getting more starts. I don't understand Sarri's position on this, it makes no sense to me. We have one of the best young talents in the game in our squad, but we have a manager basically saying he is too young to play. We are going to lose him, and it will all be the fault of Sarri. No way is Hudson-Odoi going to wait around when he knows one of the biggest clubs in the game is ready to play him right now. I agree with @EdinburghBlue on this, I don't think I will be able to forgive Sarri if we lose Hudson-Odoi to another club. Edited March 7, 20197 yr by Scott Harris
March 7, 20197 yr Sarri just said on TV that CHO won't be a top player until he's 22 or 23 years old. So he more or less just admitted that CHO isn't getting more playing time because of his age. If Callum hears this then what's his incentive to sign a new contract - he shouldn't have to wait years to be a regular in this side.
March 7, 20197 yr "I am convinced, he doesn’t have to do anything to convince me. He is a very good player. He needs to improve. He will be ready to be at the top in 22 or 23 years. We need to improve without the pressure of the media, and fans. His training is very good." I don't know how accurate this quote is, I just got it from twitter, but if this is what Sarri said, then he's talking horsesh*t. Ready to be at the top by the age of 22 or 23? Why can't he be ready now? Just treat him how you would any other senior player. I wonder if he will think the same way about Pulisic, seeing as he's only 20....

Sarri probably won't even be around by the time CHO is 22 or 23, so Sarri won't be fussed whether CHO stays or goes.
