The problem as I see it is he is super ambitious.

Appearances is appearances. 

12 of Sancho's 19 were as a sub, so only 7 starts then.

You have absolutely no reason to believe Callum will 'react' to 'not getting what he wanted'. It just doesn't happen with the youngsters, they have still to prove themselves, they aren't going to down tools and have a strop, that only happens to the already proven players, your Costa and Tibo players, not the teenagers. The kids may look else where for game time, why not, but they don't stop trying or give up.

I would guess they will ask CHO to stay until the summer and then if he still wants to go agree providing the valuation is met.

Yep, I was just responding to someone about league appearances, but I thought the figure in the brackets were the sub appearances, not the other way round.

That 19 appearances stat of Sancho's is Bundisliga only which includes 12 starts.  CHO has only had 3 league appearances and none were starts.  If we're going all competition the it's 29 (16 starts) for Sancho to 11 (6 starts) for CHO.....I'm not counting preseason or any friendlies...... Sancho has literally started more league games than CHO has had appearances in all competitions, so I think it's fair to see how CHO might feel as being restricted in opportunities compared to how he might fare elsewhere.

I agree that CHO is starting to get a good breakthrough season in 2019 (assuming he gets to start one BPL game this week & especially if he has a start and a good cameo or 2 starts which I actually think might be too much), but until January he was on only one BPL sub appearance(and that was Dec 26th because of injury to Pedro with Willian & Hazard already on the pitch), a start in the Community Shield and the 4 Europa league group stage games and I think that over a third to half of the season that is quite poor for a breakthrough. 

If the January trend continues then it will all be on CHO to prove he is worth the opportunities, and he'll have no cause to complain if he doesn't earn/justify a regular starting role by the end of the season/going into next.

 

Edit: I don't think CHO will down tools because as mentioned he needs to prove he is a talent to the world still and even if he wants to move, he'll need to impress to facilitate that.....and mainly because it seems he wanted to leave in order to play.  If he's getting to play then based on that premise he has no cause to be unhappy.

He played a full 90 a few days ago, plus all the transfer stuff the last few days so I'm not really surprised he's missing tonight. He will be back on the weekend.

I’m not determined to find fault I’m frustrated that CHO has tried to force a move away from the club despite us clearly wanting to keep him.

No kidding. He's punished today after playing 90 2 days after turning in the request. Talk about ridiculous.

Willian who scored two (and rebelled against Conte last season for being left out), Giroud as our backup striker and one of few leaders in the squad?  Ruben who played only 20 mins on the weekend and desperately needs minutes?

Well Willian because you’re right he played well and scored a couple in the last game so that’s him done for the next month or two. 

Or Giroud who is again. Bang average.

Drop Pedro permanently for CHO to at least have a spot on the bench every week.
