Easy, let’s say we value Luiz at £20mil, Napoli will pay £13 mil and then Napoli and Sarri will rescind the contract by mutual consent. I am not saying the news it's true but this is how it would happen if it was true.

Unfortunatly there is nothing to suggest we are going to get a manager in before the WC, and our business the last three summers have all been far from funny.

De Laurentiis will not let Sarri go for free despite the expiry of his €8m clause. The 2 parties have to find an agreement & in this scenario, Luiz could enter negotiations. The Brazilian not only knows Ancelotti but would be happy to arrive in Italy (La Repubblica) #CFC #Napoli

Interesting that Carlo would want Luiz. Luiz drove him spare when he was here if I remember correctly. 

According to football italia Luiz is part exchange for Elseid Hysaj and Sarri plus money probably around 30 million for both. Hysaj has being with Sarri since he was 17 years old when they were both at Empoli. Positive aspect of this is that if Sarri sees a talented youngster willing to work hard, he will definitely make him one of the best.

Need an Upgrade on Willian (too inconsistent), Azpi at CB is asking for trouble in a physical league (would only work in a team who controls possession like Spain/City), and not a fan of 3 defenders on the bench (Willian/ another Midfielder to replace a def).

I'm certainly not a Willian fan but i think he'd thrive under Sarri in the 'Callejon role'. Operate as a workhorse to hassle opponents and support. We certainly will be playing possession based football with Sarri so Azpi would be fine and with the compact back line that Sarri plays he'll have cover from Rudiger aerially if needed (not that he needs help). Azpi is the same height as Puyol and he certainly didn't have issues winning headers. Azpi and Rudiger both brilliant ball players too which is needed for Sarri-ball.

Wouldn't be my preferred XI and don't think that squad would be good enough for a top 4 finish, but I do agree it's probably more likely to be something like that. However unlikely I'd be happy with;

What about Alonso?

Unless Morata wants to leave, I don’t think we should get rid of him for a 31 year old Higuian. Whilst he has been disappointing, Morata has shown enough last season to suggest that there is a player in there. Not many players shined last season either with all the negative atmosphere going on. 

Keep him and give him another season. What’s the point in trading him in for an older striker who is arguably not an improvement ?

I wouldn't trust Alonso in a back four tbh. In a back 5 he's got close support nearby. In a back four there would be more space to exploit in behind him. 

 

Would be a bit gutted to see Luiz go, He personifies everything we've been missing on the pitch of late.

No chance Sarri spends nearly 40m on Hysaj and sits his protege on the bench. Azpi at CB would work wonders. 

I think Jorginho is basically a City player but could Seri play that role? Possibly so.

True but I'd imagine Azpi would also get gametime at LB? (i.e. in big games Hysaj would start at RB, Azpi at LB, assuming we sell Alonso)

Agreed Seri is more likely who I still have doubts about personally, he's good but nowhere near Jorginho's level imho. I'd still have Jordan Henderson over Seri any day of the week. My first choice would actually be Thiago but there's zero chance of that happening.

Something needs to happen soon,  Manager needs sorted 1st and a good Director of football / Technical Director .  Sarri if he wants the job should just quit Napoli, no money required.  Unless of course there is a clause, which any court would throw out as its different country of employment.  If its to be Conte, then let him at it.  Players be on Holiday after world cup and window closes early.  I can genuinely see another shambles of a window.  And if we lose players late on in window were f****d.  The amount of faffling about we seem to do on negotiations for them to fall flat.  One thing about Jose, targets identified and signed early.

but emerson is shiny and new and no-one has seen him play enough to notice his weaknesses. that's the way it is with new players. they're everything you want them to be. until they're not.

Have you not heard? We’ve appointed Glenn Roeder as an interim coach, on 1 year contract with an option to extend.

I think the reasoning behind the appointment is we have to wait for Sarri to see out his contract. I hope so anyway.
