I would loan them out to the Bundesliga, renowned for producing a constant stream of young stars. An Europa team or a mid table bundesliga team would be perfect e.g Augsburg or Borussia Monch. Normally I agree but for these two I think they are ready for the squad next year. Replace Pedro with CHO. Replace Luiz with Ampadu. Then if you want...replace Willian with someone world class. Ditto Bakayoko. Ditto Cahill.
February 17, 20188 yr You can probably count on one hand the amount of mistakes AMpadu has made in his senior games and Checktrade trophy games. The lad is a serious talent. I do think he'll get a year or two on loan though before coming back to us but hes practically ready now. If Conte, or whoevers in charge next year has the balls to sell Cahill and Luiz, in Zouma and Ampadu, we've got two, young CBs that could easily step into the void left by both. CHO, excellent prospect, but like Musonda, I think he has to go on loan before hes played, hes got serious competition on the wings in the summer but theres no doubting his ability.

This is our frustration, we are wasting £ on players we didnt need to buy when we had players in academy who could of done a job. Then when a top player does become available we have the money to go out and try and buy him.

Why can´t we develop them in house like United did with Rashford? Hudson Odoi doesn´t need a loan, he needs to be given a chance
February 17, 20188 yr agree with above, don't think these two need a loan. I think that Musonda going was the right the decision, but both of these can play a good role in the squad, particularly Ampadu he looks so composed for a 17 year old
February 17, 20188 yr Loans are lazy. If you truly want a player to succeed and improve to a level where they can play in the first team the best thing to do is spend time developing them and trusting them with minutes at the club. Palming them off onto another club to spend that time developing them shows a lack of interest and commitment to wanting them to actually improve. It's why most loans don't work and why the wants that do are usually with clubs that believe they have a chance of signing the player on loan. Courtois, De Bruyne and Christensen all succeeded on loan because the clubs felt they had a chance of signing those players and thus played them the way they would play anow actual signing. Same reason Batshuayi is doing well.
February 17, 20188 yr Not strictly true, Vitesse have a cat in hells chance of signing Mason Mount and that loan has worked wonders for him.

That is true, although Vitesse are a weird club that seem to relish playing Chelsea loanees. I don't think performing well for Vitesse will ever get a player a place in Chelsea's first team so loans to them are merely stepping stones for players until they are ready for a proper loan.

It works for Vitesse, they won the Dutch cup last season, their first trophy in a long time and that was largely down to Lewis Baker, who also excelled their. I agree, it's a stepping stone for our players, but a nice place to go and play and learn, perhaps even win a trophy and the level isn't as sh*t as some say it is, as Charlie Colkett found out, with his poor performances.

I dont think he ever will be. He did alright for a team who were bottom of the league... (not to say he couldn't do a job for us next year, but it won't be in the first team. Zouma maybe instead of Cahill - we will likely be playing back 4 more often next season. Edited February 19, 20188 yr by benjsross
February 19, 20188 yr CHO was training with the first team today. Think he might actually be involved

March 18, 20188 yr Ampadu out for the rest of the season, ankle fracture, big shame. I hope he recovers as quickly as possible.

March 18, 20188 yr Gutted for ampadu. Hopefully come back stronger. Maybe he can draw some inspiration from hazards come back.
March 21, 20188 yr When are Chelsea actually going to pay for Ampadu? He was fully developed over a 9 year period at Exeter and Exeter have yet to receive a penny for the transfer. DISGRACEFUL!!!!!
