 as young lad, I was gutted when he left for utd, he was the only star we had at the time when Chelsea were at a real low.

Was at palace away this season buying some beers, when saw ray a few spaces back in the que, I was being served at the time, but went to shake his hand,  I went over to my lads like a school boy all excited as I'd shook Rays hand, it was then my boys reminded me I'd left our beers at the bar, so embarrassingly had to fight through a huge que to reclaim my beers. Hang in there ray!!!

I've only just heard this news. Wishing Ray a speedy recovery.

Like everyone else on here. I am hoping Ray pulls through. Thoughts are with him and his family at this time.

Met him in a hotel lift in Slovakia in 2010 on a Champions League matchday (Zilina). A thoroughly decent and likeable guy who was chatting freely and more than happy to have pics taken.

I hope and pray he pulls through.

Wish him the absolute best and hope he pulls through. Great player and integral in Carlo's success and one of our best ever seasons.
