I'd prefer Leon Bailey, hes a Chelsea fan too, but if City are sniffing around him thats a game changer.

I think Mourinho wants Willian. I’d take a straight swap considering the age.

Willian is great, but really inconsistent and is approaching 30.

I wouldn’t swap them, why strengthen United? We already gave them Mata and Matic. I’d rather keep Willian and sell Pedro, bring in a proper right winger, Martial only plays on the left.

Wasn't Martial originally a striker? I always thought he's being misused to some degree, he can drift and play wide but his main role was central. Kind of like how some people have now forgotten that Mata is a CAM.

As a swap for Willian that might be decent but I bet they would want a load of cash to supplement the transfer. Martial is much younger and cost them £60m years ago, I wonder how much they value him today.
On top of that like mentioned we don't want to strengthen United and Willian does have great qualities, I have a feeling he's going to carry his form and newfound desire to score goals and attack without stopping all the time into the next season.

I'd prefer Lozano or Luis Suarez if Griezmann joins Barcelona, Martial doesn't adapt well to being crowded out in the box (i.e. Brighton) whereas Lozano/Suarez can drift into different positions and still influence the game. A swap for Willian would be another almighty f**k up by the club imho, perhaps even worse than selling Matic to United. I'm not against selling Willian if we can find a capable replacement, just not to United.

It totally make sense Jose wants Willian, he won't be around to play a 25 year old Matial, he needs the proven and trusted players. Martial is a great prospect, if our next manager is the kind that likes to play with attacking football and not too concerned about tracking back, think he'd be a great pick.

On the other hand Martial could be the Mythical Legendary Son of "Mourinho Rejects" and "United Rejects" We've seen success of just one category now imagine how the combination would look like. LOLOL

Jokes aside Martial seems like a solid young player that I wouldn't mind if the club got for max 45M anything more than that or any of our players going to that sh*t hole called Old Trafford would be a disappointment. 

I feel Martial is quite underrated right now which is fair enough because he has been underwhelming for Utd

In my honest opinion in the right setup under the right manager Martial could be an absolute world beater, I don't feel there's a huge difference in quality between Mbappe and Martial. The major difference between the two is that one has generally played in his favoured position in attacking teams and the other has played in a defensive side stuck out on the wings 

I know this will require a few things to go our way but if we did sign Martial, appoint Sarri as our manager and keep Hazard then our attack could become something special. If Sarri decides to stick with his 4-3-3 false 9 then Martial could potentially flourish in that false 9 role like Mertens has

But we got Giroud, Morata and maybe even Batsman. The only place I can see him playing is on the wings. It wouldn't be to bad to have a 4 star back up to Hazard. Because to be fair, Hazard plays matches where he is lazy and that might be due to the lack of competition on his position. 

I'd be interested, but not if it means Willian going to Man utd. I'm sick of giving them players.

We sold them Mata and Matic, it's enough. 

If we're interested in Martial, then we should bid and pay, that's all. 

IMO he is't good enough to oust Willian and Pedro so he would be on the bench here, what's the point signing a player unhappy of being on the bench or playing out wide to sign him to play on the bench.

It all will depend on how we're going to play next season if Conte will stay then I'm pretty sure our defensive style will be continued. 

Martial is a young and fresh player, great dribbling and crossing, has the ability to score goals and assist. He is a good player to counterattack, he also a good player to keep possession. I'm pretty sure we are not looking for him to sit on the bench, he is much better than Pedro. Having him and Willian as options, plus Hazard and Hodson Odoi, would be good enough in my opinion. 

He is a great option for attacking style of football when we will score and then defend, we better not look for him because he will be lost. 

looked crap vs brighton the other day. his chance to shine and he didn't impress at all. i don't think he's as good as people think. still quite raw. 

I honestly think that if he left united he would flourish, similar to Salah or De Bruyne. He has great technical ability but is also quite tall and strong. I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to hard against Brighton

You can’t rate a player on one bad performance though. Look at Salah and KDB for us.

Granted Martial at the top of his game is quality but it isn't the first time he's gone missing in games, if KdB for example doesn't find the space he needs he drifts into centre mid. Martial just stands there like a clueless lemon, rinse repeat fail.

I like Martial but I cannot see United selling to us. Wouldn't put it past them to play games with us for most of the summer though.

I’d take him if the price was right and the deal didn’t involve Willian moving the other way!

Could this not be instructions from the manager though? Mourinho doesn't exactly allow his players the fluidity to do as they please. Pep would be happy with players roaming, Mourinho not so much.

he's just never really stood out to me. i don't see him as more a threat in attack than a willian or pedro. while we also have hudson-odoi who could be back up to hazard/pedro. i just think it would be a waste of money on a position we aren't weak in. we have a couple other areas of more importance. 

He's not at William's level, which is why Jose wanted William as part of the deal. He's better than Pedro through, Pedro's season so far has been 2-3 crap games that make me miss Kalou , then a good cameo just to remind he's still an ok player.
