July 28, 20187 yr There seems to be a real push for this transfer to happen, at the same time as some new reports say that we might sell Cahill together with Willian to Man Utd. I would be impressed if we sign Rugani but selling Cahill to Man Utd, I have some mixed feelings about that one.

July 29, 20187 yr I hope the club is not stupid enough to spend 100m on Higuain and Rugani, there are countless better options we can buy for 100m.

It does seem to be Martial for no.9, but another central defender wouldn't be a bad idea. I think LB we need to look at though, but there's not enough top quality Left backs who are available, at least not ones who will be a bench warmer for Emerson.
July 29, 20187 yr Juventus only want to sell players they didn't want, so we better look else where. To be honest, they were not in financial trouble, aren't going to sell one of their better defender to cover the cost of a striker. I'm happy if we don't business with them at all.
July 29, 20187 yr I heard somewhere that Juventus recovered half of the money they spent on Ronaldo in just a week due to shirt sales...They are not going to let us have Rugani I feel. For Higuain I don't care at all, but getting Rugani would have covered us for years to come...Doesn't matter if this transfer fails, similar to Golovin, but I really hope we get another attacking player that isn't Higuain. Nor Bernard.

July 29, 20187 yr Juve sold 520000 shirts on the first day. This is the max capacity Juventus and Adidas could provide the shirts. Average price for one shirt was 104€.

First of all, it needs to be cleared up that United don’t get all of the revenue from shirt sales, far from it. Adidas don’t pay the club £75 million for nothing. In fact, the industry standard is for the kit provider to receive 85-90% of all revenue from shirt sales. However, as McKeegan rather confidently pointed out in subsequent tweets, the shirt itself is not the only way clubs earn money from shirt sales, there are also the printing and the badges. So let’s do the maths. According to United’s online shop, the printing and badges cost an extra £13.61. If we’re being optimistic, and United earn all of that plus 15% of the shirt revenue, that amounts to £23.82 per shirt. Which means, to cover the full £89 million, United would need to sell 3.736.356 Pogba shirts
July 29, 20187 yr The people who buy the Robaldo shirts are also those who would have gotten one anyway, so its not «pure profit»
July 29, 20187 yr My point here is if you buy Ronaldo you buy something more than just one of the best players ever. Shirt sales is one aspect of it. In that way Ronaldo is unique admittedly but it is always good to keep that in mind when in awe of transfersums. Big teams are there for business, football is merely one part of the whole circus. Ronaldo's mere face and status create new Juve fans all over the world.

Still not bad.
