On paper you wouldn't have expected a manager like Mancini (who often played three traditional DM's at the same time at City) to find a spot for him but he did.

With the way football is heading stylistically a lot of teams with have room for a player like him, I just hope we can replace him with a similar profile of player if he does leave (unless Gilmour suddenly regains his March 2020 self).

International football is a completely different football. Very slow, no transition, very little pressing and ultra defensive. Jorginho is a perfrctly fine dm for this type of football.

Regardless of that strange take which is very much debatable, he's also a fine DM for the CL, Europa League, Serie A and PL football as well, looks like he doesn't mind.

Wonder why TT opted for Saul ahead of him today? I mean the Italian Brazilian would seem a logical one to use

No point when T.Silva played his role

No point? That could have been you getting the match winner rather than Kai Gol? 😉

He did bottle his last penalty in a final didn’t he?

I'm happy regardless, I like both. As soon as we signed I put my background picture of Kai signing with Lampard, I knew he will be a special player.

I remember on occasion Jorginho has been criticised for his lack of assists (especially in the Sarri season). So I'll thought I'll share a video of one of the greatest midfielders to live explaining how difficult it is to do consistently from that position (2:40).

Xavi was really one of the most influential players of his team and that alone makes him one of the finest midfielders Europe has ever seen but he has always been a humble person, even while enjoying his best years as a player he was still living with his parents and in this video he’s still that same down to earth person.

Suddenly pulls out Pirlo-esque assists now.

He has always been capable of them, he just focuses too often on the simple ball. He is a much better passer of the ball over varied distance than Kante or Kova, just often does not try the pass whether it is due to instruction or desire to keep the ball simple.

Left out of ITALYS squad for their match in Turkey today.

Hasn’t he been sent back to Chelsea? I thought I saw that they sent him home after the play offs. Mancini said something about them having a good relationship with Chelsea and Chelsea asked he not be used unnceccsarily.
