October 26, 20196 yr He looks much better this season. So many of our attacks start with either a pass from Jorginho or a dribble from Kovacic. The one thing he needs to work on is not losing the ball as often from deep. He tends to do it two or three times a game. If he can't dribble his way out of a situation, I would rather he just boot the ball clear.

But I do agree sometimes he gets sloppy trying to play it out from danger, but he is extremely talented with his control and skill. It's like we aren't even missing Kante with Jorginho and Kovacic in midfield, I never thought I would be saying that.

He probably lost the ball just a couple times but the danger is there because he takes risks often regardless of where he is on the pitch, that skill he did to get out of danger from deep was impressive but if he was caught out then it would probably have led to a goal. Overall he's a fantastic player who has improved an incredible amount but a bit of prudence would make him even better
October 26, 20196 yr That piece of skill when he had 2 players closing in on him, and flicked it between the 2. It wasnt even acknowledged on sky. Unbelievable piece of skill.
October 26, 20196 yr he's instrumental for us now. imagine we haven't signed him, while kante and RLC are out from the start of the season, practically. he&jorginho are running the show at the moment. long may it last.
October 26, 20196 yr He’s playing so well at the moment. Very very tidy player. Each match I hope he, more than any other player, has an assist or goal. its coming folks and once he starts assisting/scoring there will be no stopping him.
October 26, 20196 yr I was critical last season but he's a top player. I'm starting to like him a lot. He's a real team player as well. Just gets on with his job. No fuss. Totally committed. Up for the fight and prepared to get his hands dirty. He's growing in confidence and he's got real ability on the ball. I'd say he's undroppable, the way he's playing, but he was excellent against Liverpool and he was dropped straight after. Right now, he's possibly the first name on the team sheet for me. Today he was world class.

Bit of a selection headache for Frank in January when we hopefully have a fully fit Jorginho, Kova, Mount, RLC and Kante to pick from.

And Bakley too... it seems SFL likes what he brings to the table.. The player i am worried about is RLC.. not sure how many minutes will he get and in what shape will he return..

Last season it was sometimes difficult to tell him and Hazard apart, many people on this forum used to get them mixed up because he was the only one who could move the ball similar to Hazard. Some of his driving runs forward have singificantly helped us, it's something Kante used to do last season that Kova is now adding to his game. Also his workrate and closing down is even better than Jorginho's imo.

I think RLC will be fine, Frank likes to give players a chance and RLC is already proven. I honestly don't think we'll see Kante back until another month, I expect RLC will be back before then. Kante's problem isn't so much an injury it's more of his physical condition, he needs to let his body heal before he plays another professional 90 minutes, otherwise he's going to get injured again instantly. Same case with Rudiger I think.
October 27, 20196 yr A steal at £40 million. Absolute steal. Massively improved and Lampard have proved he knows how to get the best out of him and Jorginho too for that matter.
October 27, 20196 yr He is one shot away from the best midfielder in the world. Seriously, he is strong, he is fast, dribbles like Hazard, steals the ball like Kante, doesn't make stupid mistakes while passing. Not sure if it's possible, if he has it, but should he find his shooting, he'll be the best around the globe.

Because they don't have great stats, it makes them look worse than they are but he is a very talented player. He probably now with Hazard gone is our best dribbler in the team and is brilliant at keeping possession and gliding past players. He just needs to be more effective in final third. He has a lot of room to grow. He was not awful last season, nor was he great but for me we had to buy him. I am a big fan of his unlike other people. I know people will say it was one game, however that performance he put in against Arsenal in EL final was waiting to happen. Pleased to say, I have been proven right. Was just looking back a few pages, and it is amazing that a huge majority of fans on this forum did not want us signing Kovacic on a permanent basis, despite the transfer ban. Hindsight point of view, it was essential we bought him. If we had not, we would of been in a whole spot of bother, when you consider Kante's injury issues this season.

October 27, 20196 yr I knew Kova since his time at Inter and was delighted when he joined on loan. That's why I've been defending him to the point of being annoying. 😛 Glad to see people are starting to see the light.
October 27, 20196 yr Lampard found the perfect place for him, very deep with Jorghy and it works since he will never score a goal in his life but his partnership with Jorghy is top level since he covers a lot of ground and as always the ball is glued to his foot.
