We've got a new Kepa

Featured Replies

This is the best news of the day.  71M  waste of a purchase. The worst Goalie in the EPL . Thank you Real. Hopefully you  sign him. Any money Chelsea gets for Kepa is a steal.  These are the type of purchases you write off as a bad debt.  Never in my life have i ever seen a goalie for Chelsea so bad as Kepa, who can never ever learn to concentrate or save a long ranger. The weakest link, finally gone

Marco Ambrosio thanks you for the vote of confidence.

You're thinking of Ambrosetti.  He may have been better in nets than Ambrosio though

Ross Turnbull is another that springs to mind

Really weird keeper situation we had that season behind Carlo, almost felt like an outer body experience.

Neil Sullivan, Marco Ambrosio and Jurgen Macho (who if I recall correctly had a monster game for Sunderland against us the season before). All got released the following summer.

I don't particularly rate him, but I take it you're quite a young fan.

Here we go again .  Ed de Goey was better .I can rant on  a poor goalie and mind you I have been a Chelsea fan since 1993.  Now do the math .

I think we should try to get Pope or Daniel Iversen

Are you mad?

No chance Pope is available and no chance he’s leaving Newcastle for us. They’d also want a massive fee.

Iverson is bang average

Okay that makes sense although I would argue that Beasant and Kharine were no better than Kepa which would of been within your supporting era. He certainly isn't the worst keeper that we've had overall, but I do agree it was a monumental waste of money paying the amount we did for him. There clearly had been no due diligence done because he was recruited on the basis of being a ball playing keeper which he has never been.

Whilst I welcome a change of keeper the timing of this on the eve of the first game of the season potentially leaving Sanchez to make his debut against the scouse having not played a competitive match for 6 months is so potentially destructive that there must be an underlying reason which may well be money related as mentioned elsewhere.

He played against us and United in April and played well both times. It was getting dropped again after that then still not getting back in even after Steele allowed Everton to score 15% of their season tally in one match that caused the issues that culminated in him leaving.

So whos our number 2 then? If sanchez is our number 1...even if we did get a number 2 what do we do when kepa comes back next year?

We're in the market for a reserve keeper. As for Kepa - we've got 12 months to figure out that little problem.

As it stands, probably Lucas Bergstrom !
